The following reports were placed on file: Town Clerk-August
Building & Zoning-August Police-August
OPEN FORUM 8 :25 P.M.
UNKNOWN- spoke on the subject of drainage on Dixon road. . .noted
that she started having problems approximately two years ago
when a new house was built and a culvert was filled in. . .asked
Mr. Gealt for assistance but the problem still exists. . .
Councilman Robertson-asked when the problmm startED . .
UNKNOWN- it happens in the spring and when the rainfall is
heavy. . . presented a letter from Mr. Peter Firth to the Town
Board that he contacted Mr. Gealt and Mr. Gealt was going to
construct a trench along the edge of Dixon Road. . . ltr. on file. . .
Mr. Gealt- I have had no communication from ther.erattorney
asked for a copy of the letter. . .
Supervisor Walter- Are you planning to do anything regarding a
culvert in that area this season?
180
Mr. Gealt-Yes we have plans to do something with the culvert
in that area this season. . .noted problems with property ownership
noted that a resident has blocked a culvert causing flooding
in other areas. . .noted that there is very little highway related
water problem here most of the water problem is on private property
and caused by an action of the property owner. . .we have some
plans for making corrections on Dixon road in hopes of solving
the problem but as far as entering on private property we have
no legal authority now. . .
UNKNOWN- asked how a building permit was issued?
Supervisor Walter-the building permit and CO would be issued
through the Building & Zoning Dept. it has nothing to do with
the problem you are talking about right now. . .Mr. Gealt has
indicated that he will work on the problem if he does note
please notify my office.
Mr. Voorhis-Highway Worker, noted thatthe workers on the Aviation
hoad project had been approached by residents of WestLand who
want to know what safety measure-!g will be made for the bikers
who use the area. . . .noted that the residents have said that they
have not gotten an answer from the Town. . .
Supervisor Walter- anyone who calls my office always gets a
reply they may not like what they heae but we do get back to
them. . We have not had any calls at all from people along
Aviation Road.
Mr. Voorhis- the residents know that it is not a bike trail
but larger shoulders , they want crossing signs or some type
of a line along the shoulder of the road that would designate
where the vehicles are to travel and where the bikes can go.
Supervisor Walter- I think that when the Highway Dept. gets
through with the work it will be evident as to what is going
on. . . If there are any more problems there I would suggest
that the Highway Crews tell the residents to call the Supervisors
office. "
Mr. Turnbull-It is time for the bulget and I hope you look on hhe
Queensbury Senior Citizens in a good outlook. . .
Supervisor Walter- asked for further comments hearing none the
meeting was continued. . .
