SALUTE TO THE FLAG LED BY DEPUTY SUPERVISOR HAMMOND ROBERTSON
DEPUTY SUPERVISOR HAMMOND ROBERTSON- ANNOUNCED THAT SUPERVISOR BRANDT
IS OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS AND COUNCILMAN EISENHART IS OUT OF THE COUNTRY. . .
THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF CALLING THIS MEETING IS THAT WE HAVE LONG BEEN HAVING
DIFFICULTIES WITH ENCON OVER THE OPERATION OF THE LANDFILL PERMITS ETC.
ENCON HAS REQUESTED THIS BOARD TAKE FORMAL ACTION REQUESTING A HEARING. . .
RESOLUTION TO REQUEST HEARING

ADOPTION , SECONDED BY MR. HAMMOND ROBERTSON :
WHEREAS, THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY HAS PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED TO THE NEW
YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION A PROPOSED PLAN
FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE QUEENSBURY/GLENS FALLS JOINT LANDFILL SITUATE
ON RIDGE ROAD IN THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY AND
WHEREAS, THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
HAS AS;IGNED PROJECT NUMBER 57S10 TO SAID APPLICATION AND
WHEREAS, IT WOULD APPEAR TO BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE TOWN OF
QUEENSBURY FOR A HEARING TO BE HELD AT THE EARLIEST CONVENIENT TIME
BY THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION CONCERNING
SAID APPLICATION AND
WHEREAS, A WRITTEN REQUEST BY THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY FOR THE HOLDING OF
SAID PUBLIC HEARING IS REQUIRED,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT
RESOLVED, THAT A HEARING BEFORE THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION BE REQUESTED AND THE SUPERVISOR OF THE TOWN
OF QUEENSBURY BE AUTHORIZED TO SUBMIT SAID WRITTEN REQUEST ON BEHALF
OF THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY ALONG WITH A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION.

ABSENT : DR. EISENHART, MR. BRANDT
COUNCILMAN OLSON- DISCUSSED THE INCREASE OF BIKES ON QUAKER ROAD , SUGGESTED
THAT THE TOWN BOARD WRITE A LETTER TO THE COUNTY SUGGESTING THAT THE SHOULDERS
OF QUAKER ROAD BE PAVED TO ALLOW FOR SAFER BIKE TRAVEL. . .
COUNCILMAN ROBERTSON- ALSO REQUESTED THAT IT BE SUGGESTED IN THE LETTER THAT
THE COUNTY LOOK TOWARD PLACING MORE TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON BAY AND QUAKER AND
DIX AND QUAKER. . .
COUNCILMAN WALTER- I HAVE HAD A REQUEST FOR A SLOW, CHILDREN AT PLAY SIGN . . .
CARL GARB- A SLOW CHILDREN AT PLAY SIGN IS AN ILLEGAL SIGN. . .
COUNCILMAN WALTER- NOTED THAT THE AREA IN QUESTION IS THE MIDNIGHT DRIVE
AREA. . . THE BEST THING TO DO IN THIS AREA IS TO GO BACK TO THE RESIDENTS
AND REQUEST THAT THEY PETITION THE TOWN BOARD FOR A SLOWER SPEED LIMIT
IN THAT AREA. . .
COUNCILMAN ROBERTSON ASKED FOR FURTHER QUESTIONS. . .NONE. . .
ON MOTION THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED.
