PROPOSED EXIT 18 OVERLAY ZONE
Discussion held regarding possible exit 18 overlay zone. Senior Planner, Stuart Baker strongly
recommended, as part of the environmental review, working with the Regional Transportation
Council and use some of their technical assistance funds to get a transportation engineering
review done for any proposed changes. Supervisor Strough will send a graphic proposal to each
board member and asked that they do their own site visits and share their thoughts regarding
what kind of zoning they would recommend.
EXIT 20 CORRIDOR UPDATE
Supervisor Strough spoke regarding John McCormack's proposal to put a road in to connect the
busy Route 9 outlets. The AGFTC has agreed to keep the door open on the Exit 20 corridor for
new thoughts and ideas. It was noted that Stuart Baker will be meeting with the other owners,
the AGFTC and the State so the Town will be represented regarding the Exit 20 corridor
discussions.
WATER/WASTEWATER ORGANIZATION
Discussion held regarding the organization of the Water Department and Wastewater
Department. Supervisor Strough noted that Water Superintendent Bruce Ostrander will be
retiring in July. We are looking at combining the two superintendents and make one
superintendent for water and wastewater, which would be Chris Harrington. Further discussion
was held with the concepts for consolidation for the rest of the department.
FERTILIZER REGULATION LAW
Supervisor Strough spoke to the board and noted that Kathy Bozony along with other Lake
George organizations would like to see the Town of Queensbury continue its leadership as it has
in the past. They would like the town to include the fifty foot prohibition against fertilizer use to
not only Lake George but also its tributaries which is defined by the basin, by the Lake George
Park Commission and State law. Board members were presented with a proposed local law for
their review.
COMMUNITY PLANNING (MAIN STREET & MORE)

Fire Company, Luzerne Road regarding the Main Street corridor. An informational meeting will

S.A.V.E. (STOP AQUATIC INVASIVES FORM ENTERING) LAKE GEORGE
Discussion held regarding S.A.V.E. Supervisor Strough noted that this is an informal
organization made up of the Town and Village of Lake George, Town of Queensbury, Town of
Bolton, the Fund for Lake George and the LGA; and we are trying to get other Town's to get
involved as well. This is like an auxiliary organization with the intent to put money aside to help
Lake George Park Commission in its efforts to try and implement boat washing station
programs. The Town has put thirty thousand dollars aside and other Towns have agreed to put in
the same amount.
