The tests were performed to the north of the existing residence in the location where construction of a replacement leach field is proposed. The current residence has an existing failed septic system which will be decommissioned upon completion and certification of the replacement system. The results of the testing are as follows: Test Pit Percolation Test 0 —4" Topsoil Stabilization percolation rate - 1" in 1 min., 38 sec. 4— 37" Medium Fine Sand 37 —60" Medium Fine Silty Sand Mottling observed at 50" No Groundwater The 30 inch deep hole was presoaked and the test was run 3 times; at a depth of 24 inches, until it stabilized with three consecutive runs of 1:13, 1:25 and 1:38 respectively. The design flow for this 3 bedroom residence at 110 gpd per bedroom (330 gpd design flow), requires 347 sf of absorptive area. The replacement absorption bed system should consist of the existing 1,000 gallon septic tank and a 20 foot wide by 20 foot long absorption bed with a distribution box & 4— 15 foot long laterals located to the north side of the existing residence. The septic system as installed was for a 3 bedroom house and consisted of the existing septic tank, a new distribution box and a 20 foot by 20 foot absorption bed with 4 perforated laterals, with their ends tied together.
