1977-10-11 181 RESOLUTION TO EMPOWER THE TOWN SUPERVISOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY RESOLUTION NO. 232 , Introduced by Mr. Michel Brandt who moved its adoption, seconded y Mr. Robert Barber: WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor to enter into an agret®etitwith the City of Glens Falls for the daedblishment of a roadway between Sherman Avenue and Luzerne Road, and WHEREAS, the Town Board agrees to accept the funding of a one month rental of a bulldozer, size to be determined by the City, �and amount not to exceed $7, 000. 00 , dozer to be used in the building of the roadwav and the balance of the one month period for the City use on the Landfill at Luzerne Road, Now, Therefore be it RESOLVED, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury authorizes the Supervisor to enter into such an agreement with the City of Glens Falls subject to the approval of the Town and City Attornies. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes : Mr. Olson, Mrs. Walter, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Brandt Noes: None Absent: Mr. Barber RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT POLICE CAR BID EESOLUTION NO. 234, Introduced by Mr. Robert Barber who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Daniel Olson WHEREAS, Acting Chief Judkins , of the Queensbury Police Dept. did recommend that we advertise for bids for two new patrol cars of American Make and, WHEREAS, bids were advertised for and received on October 4th, 1977 and WHEREAS, two bids were received and turned over to Charles Judkins , Acting Chief of Police for his recommendation,, Now, Therefore be it RESOLVED, that upon Mr. Judkins request the Town Board accept the bid of Glen Ford of So. Glees Falls in the amount of $9,276.00 and be it further RESOLVED, that the payment for this equipment will be from the Police Budget. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Mr. Olson, Mr. Barber, Mrs. Walter, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Brandt Noes: None Absent: None Councilman Barber entered the meeting just prior to the last vote. A discussion was held in regard to the above resolution. SUPERVISOR BRANDT- noted that the police budget will be $18,500 below budget before the purchase of the car. One car equippd*ill be $5,262. which would be paid for by the Town the other car will be paid by a Federal Grant. Suggested that mon- ies are available through the Contingency Account for the car and the $18,500. can be allocated through the anti-recession monies . Noted the deficiency in the Police Dept. came when we were running without a Chief and overtime was high. COUNCILMAN OLSON- Can we take a car for nothing and not purchase a car of our own? SUPERVISOR BRANDT- believe the anti recession monies ate part of the revenue sharing program . . . . in regard to the vehicle it will belong to the town in three .years. . .
