RESOLUTION REJECTING BID FOR DIXON ROAD CULVERT
REPLACEMENT PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING
RE-ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 412,2014, the Queensbury Town Board authorized and
approved the Dixon Road Culvert Replacement Project (Project), establishment of the Dixon
Road Culvert Replacement Capital Project Fund #206 and engagement of The Chazen Companies
(Chazen) for design and construction phase engineering services related to the Project, and
WHEREAS, General Municipal Law §103 requires that the Town advertise for bids and award
the bid to the lowest responsible bidder meeting New York State statutory requirements and the
requirements set forth in the Town's bid documents and specifications, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 230,2015, the Town Board authorized and directed the
Town's Purchasing Agent to publish an advertisement for bids for the Dixon Road Culvert
Replacement Project in the official newspaper for the Town of Queensbury, and
WHEREAS, on July 29h, 2015, all received bids were opened and reviewed, and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent and Chazen have recommended that the Town Board
reject the bid as only one such bid was received and by re-advertising, it is hoped that the Town
will receive additional, favorable bids, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board accordingly wishes to reject the bid received and re-advertise for
bids,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby rejects the one bid received by the
Town in connection with the Dixon Road Culvert Replacement Project referred to in the preambles of
this Resolution and opened on July 29d`, 2015 and authorizes and directs the Purchasing Agent to re-
advertise for bids as delineated in the preambles of this Resolution, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Purchasing Agent
to open all bids, read them aloud and record the bids as is customarily done and present the bids to the
Town Board.
