LOCAL LAW NO. _ OF 2015 INCREASING SALARY OF
HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT FOR 2016 FISCAL YEAR

WHEREAS, the Queensbury Town Board believes it would be in the best interests of the
Town to increase the salary of the Town Highway Superintendent to an amount in excess of the
amount specified in the notice of public hearing on the Town's preliminary budget which was
duly published pursuant to Town Law §108, and
WHEREAS, Town Law §27 authorizes the Town Board to increase the salary of certain
elected officials of the Town, including the Highway Superintendent, to an amount in excess of
the amount specified in the notice of public hearing on the preliminary budget for not more than
one fiscal year by adoption of a Local Law pursuant to the Municipal Home Rule Law, and
WHEREAS, proposed Local Law No. of 2015 has been prepared which would
accomplish this change, and
WHEREAS, under Municipal Home Rule Law §20, no Local Law may be passed until a
Public Hearing has been held,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board shall meet and hold a public hearing at the
Queensbury Activities Center, 742 Bay Road, Queensbury at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16'h
2015 to consider proposed Local Law No.: of 2015 and to hear all interested persons, and at that
time may take any other actions authorized by law concerning proposed Local Law No.: of 2015;
and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the Queensbury Town Clerk to
publish and post a Notice of Public Hearing concerning proposed Local Law No. of 2015 in the
manner provided by law.
