The New York Fire Prcwerrtion and Building Gneiss requires communifies to conduct ongoing tarn inspections
at all places of bud iutess_ Tfne'f ueensbury Town Code and local laws support NY State code enforcement. The intent of
the inspections isl,,fo provide a safe environment for customers and employees as well as ernergency service responders.
Pieces of public assembly are inspected at lea st jonce every 12 months. All other businesses are inspected at least every
years. Thefrequency is deters-pined by local officiblsa
It is important to unclOrstaand the value cf fire inspections beyond the legal requ'lrements. Thee Town of Queensbury enjoys
a low rate of fire incident and property loss due to regular fire inspections along with public education and dedicated
emergency services voi'unteers. Fire prevention not only preserves; your business and investment, it also protects the jobs
and livelihood ofyour employees. From a conimunity standpoint, it also means preservation of the tax bane.
A routine fire inspection of a small business may take less than 30 minutesi larger buslnesses may require a full day.
Facilities such as school campuses or amusen'nent parks may take several days to complete. The business owner is
encouraged to participate in tine inspection process; each inspection presents an educational opportunity for both tele owner
and fire inspector and facilitates the development of a goon working relationship. Not ail inspections are successful on the
first visit, however all inspections are a chance for the business over or tenant to learn more about the inspection process
as well as code and life safety items that are critical to the inspection, The best policy is to provide the Fire Marshal's Office
with all information about the property, the building and, planned uses. The sar ne procedure should be followed for any
planned changes or renovations to the property or structure after a CO has been issued. It must be stressed that this
aection p oceqsLdoQ, notguarantee a Certificate of Occu enc
As your association with the Towyn of Oueenslxrry Fire Marshal's Office continues, fire inspections wwiH become an effortless
routine becaause you have kept your premises in compliance. In addltion, you will learn what you can do on a regular basis
to maintain a safe environment for the ernpioyees and custorners.

FM spoke with :Mattison regarding the occupancy. He indicates that his
business is primarily warehouse and retail, and some light refinishing
will occur. I indicated that we would review him as an "M" occupancy
at this time.
• Locks / Latches to comply with Chapter 10 of NY FC
• Fire extinguisher locations to be determined
• FM to perform function test of exit / Emergency lighting
• Verify aisles and storage
