11-06-1996 QUEENSBURY CEMETERY COMMISSION NOVEMBER 6, 1996 9 a.m. PRESENT: Superintendent Rodney Mosher Commissioners Sylvia Dougher, Terry Higgins Councilwoman Betty Monahan Don Schermerhorn, Vice President and Eastern Region Manager of SCI ( Service Corp. International) presented the Commission with a Crematory Agreement which will be discussed at a later date. There were 47 cremations in October and 439 to date this year. The Vault - K. Nusbaum Inc. of East Greenbush made a $10, 000 bid to remove the canopy and Dick Sears Tree Expert of Queensbury's bid was for $9, 797 . 00 . Dick Sears ' bid was accepted and has started the removal which will be completed no later than November 10 . The water line has been installed from Sweet Road to the back of the Cemetery. Fall cleanup is completed. Two new pieces, Huron and Abenaki, are open. Huron has 339 sites, Abenaki has 135 and Horican has 551 . At present there are 1, 025 sites as well as Hudson #1 for flat markers . More property is being leveled near Mohican. Rodney, along with other department heads, have been asked to attend the Public Hearing in the event there are questions . Black top funds need to be reserved for 1997 . The County cleaned the drainage ditch on Quaker Road. We are looking into the amount of property that belongs to Sunnyside Cemetery. There was a brief discussion regarding a poll of public interest in a community mausoleum. October 1996 Cemetery: Crematorium: Interments $2330 . Cremations $8695 . Lots 5525 . Containers 475 .
