Dear Dave:
Haanen Engineering, LLP (HE) has been on site and has reviewed the top of foundation wall at
completion of block removal at both building sites. The tops of foundation walls at both sites
were in good condition with no signs of distress. During the course of new block installation,
photographs were reviewed verifying that, at a minimum, installation progressed as originally
designed. In addition to minimum design requirements, additional reinforcing dowels were
drilled and grouted into the foundation walls and #5 bars were installed in the block cores — all
new block cores were filled solid with grout.
The work has been completed above and beyond the minimum design requirements and with
final inspection complete, is acceptable.
