IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE A MORE HIGHLY TREATED EFFLUENT FOR DISCHARGE TO THE NATIVE OVERBURDEN IT IS PROPOSED TO ADD TO THE TREATMENT TRAIN A SECONDARY TREATMENT COMPONENT PRIOR TO EFFLUENT DISCHARGE TO THE DISPOSAL FIELD. IT IS PROPOSED TO DOSE THE SEPTIC TANK EFFLUENT TO A PURAFLO PEAT BIOFILTER WHERE ADVANCED TREATMENT OCCURS DUE TO PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL, AND MICROBIAL PROCESSES THAT ARE OPTIMIZED IN THE PEAT BIOFILTER MEDIA. TREATED EFFLUENT DISPOSAL WILL OCCUR BY GRAVITY FROM THE PEAT MODULES TO A DISPOSAL BED ABOVE THE NATIVE OVERBURDEN SOIL. THIS ADDED TREATMENT STEP WILL PROVIDE EFFLUENT QUAL17Y CHARACTERISTIC OF SECONDARY TREATMENT IN REDUCTIONS IN BOD AND TSS. THIS MORE HIGHLY TREATED EFFLUENT WILL PLACE LESS BURDEN ON THE SOIL TREATMENT SYSTEM IN THE PROXIA41TY OF THE LAKE. NOTE THAT THE PURAFLO BIOFILTRATION SYSTEM IS APPROVED AS AN ENHANCED TREATMENT UNIT (ETU) BY THE NYS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN THE FEBRUARY 2009 DESIGN STANDARD UPDATE. PROJECTED FLOW RATE: BASED ON A THREE(3) BEDROOM COUNT AND NYS DOH STANDARDS FOR POST 7991 WATER SAVING FIXTURES ® 110 GALLONS PER DAY PER BEDROOM, THE AVERAGE DAILY FLOW (ADP) IS 330 GALLONS. ALL FIXTURES WITHIN THE RESIDENCE HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO WATER SAVING FIXTURES. NO GARBAGE DISPOSAL OR HOT TUB EXISTS(OR ARE RECOMMENDED) WITHIN THE RESIDENCE. THE ALTERNATING PUMP CONTROLS, SUE RHOMBUS MODEL TD OR EQUAL SHALL INCLUDE A TIMED DOSE (2 TO 3 HOURS PER CYCLE) WHICH DELIVERS A DOSING VOLUME OF APPROXIMATELY 11 GALLONS PER MODULE (3) PER DOSE. FINAL PUMP CONTROL SETTINGS WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN THE FIELD BY THE ENGINEER DURING THE SYSTEM TESTING AND START-UP PHASE. REFER TO THE MANUFACTURER'S DESIGN NOTES - SHEET 2. THE OWNER WILL BE PROVIDED WITH MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS AND AN INFORMATIONAL PACKET ON THE 'DO'S AND DON'T'S' REGARDING THE OPERA77ON OF A SEPTIC SYSTEM. FILL SYSTEM INSTALLATION 1. WHEN PLACING FILL ON TOP OF EXISTING GRADE, ORGANIC DEBRIS, INCLUDING LEAVES, ROOTS AND OTHER PLANT FORMS, SHALL BE REMOVED PRIOR TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE FILL AND THE NATURAL SOIL PLOWED OR SCARIFIED. 2.
