Footing Rebar Inspector O'Brien, I have approved the installation of the footing 'L' dowel into the wet concrete rather than being tied to the footing rebar prior to the pour. I spoke with the concrete contractor about the soil conditions found during excavation and there are no adverse conditions or abnormal loads. Therefore, I have determined that omitting the rebar tie will have no effect on the strength and durability of the foundation. Please call me if you need more information. Thank you.
