Small Bur-reed Sparganium natans Threatened Imperiled in NYS Harris Bay Marsh,wetlands between south end of Harris Bay and Route 9L:This area is a very mucky shrub swamp 5257 with open water zones. 11/17/2015 The following significant natural communities are considered significant from a statewide perspective by the NY Natural Heritage Program. They are either occurrences of a community type that is rare in the state,or a high quality example of a more common community type. In a primarily forested watershed with locally abundant shoreline development. Brayton Marsh, extensive wetlands south of project sites and south of Route 9L. Highbush Blueberry Bog Thicket High Quality Occurrence of Uncommon Community Type This is a large,moderately well-protected,essentially undisturbed occurrence in an extensive peatland complex. 5024 Inland Poor Fen High Quality Occurrence of Uncommon Community Type This fen supports a good diversity of species and is located within a fairly large,undisturbed peatland. 6101 Black Spruce-Tamarack Bog High Quality Occurrence of Uncommon Community Type This is a large occurrence in undisturbed large wetland complex. 0123 Harris Bay Marsh, wetlands at south end of Harris Bay, north of Route 9L and southeast of marina. Shrub Swamp High Quality Occurrence This is an excellent community that is diverse and has low disturbance. 7467 This report only includes records from the NY Natural Heritage database.
