Dear George:
At your request we have reviewed your proposed replacement septic system design of the
existing 3 bedroom house at 3 June Drive in Queensbury. As per our conversation the residence
has an existing failed septic system.
We have reviewed the proposed replacement septic system design and we agree that a standard
seepage pit is acceptable. Based upon a design flow rate of 330 GPD and a percolation rate of 1
to 5 minutes, you will need 275 square feet of absorptive area. We recommend using a 6 ft wide
diameter by 8 ft deep dry well with 2 ft of stone around the diameter and 1 ft of stone below,
which will provide 283 sf of absorptive area. The seepage pit can be constructed with a new
1,000 gallon septic tank and 4 inch diameter distribution pipe. See typical details and lot layout
plan attached.
