1974-05-23 108 RESOLVED, that the people of the Town of Queensbury, the shire Town of Warren County, hereby express hearty congratulations to their friends and neighbors in the wonderful Town of Bolton on this 175 th anniversary of their local government. RESOLUTION OF CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TOWN OF CHESTER RESOLUTION NO. 137, introduced by Mr. Austin, who moved its adoption, secon e y Mr. Robillard. WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury once comprised all of what is presently the great County of Warren; and WHEREAS, the residents of the northern portion of what is presently Warren County determined in 1792 to establish the Town of Thurman; and WHEREAS, certain persons residing in the scenic territory nearrSchroon Lake, Loon lake, Friends Lake and east of the Hudson River desired the establishment of a new town in 1799, because of the great growth in that area; and WHEREAS, the Town of Chester was created on March 25, 1799, one hundred and seventy-five years ago; and WHEREAS, the people of the Town of Chester are now engaged in festivities celebrating said anniversary; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the people of the Town of Queensb-ury, the shire Town of Warren,County, hereby express hearty congratulations to their friends and neighbors in the wonderful town of Chester on this 175th anniversary of their local government. The original proposal of the Nature Conservancy for wetlands purchase did not include all the watered areas, nor did it consider the adjacent upland necessary for access and to preserve the integrity of the wet- land itself. These two prime concerns account for the additional acre- age we propose for purchase, Without these lands, the important values associated with Dunham Bay Wetlands can not be preserved.
