RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HIRING OF TERRY COMEAU
AS PART-TIME COURT OFFICER

WHEREAS, the Queensbury Town Justices have advised that they wish to hire a part-time
Town Court Officer on an "as needed" basis at the Town of Queensbury's Justice Court due to the
impending retirement of one of their current part-time Court Officers, and
WHEREAS, the Town Justices have recommended that the Town Board hire Terry Comeau
in such position, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board concurs with such hiring recommendation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes, directs and ratifies the
hiring of Terry Comeau as a part-time Court Officer on an "as needed"basis at the hourly rate of pay
of$16.00 as set forth in Town Board Resolution No.: 36,2016, subject to Mr. Comeau passing a
pre-employment physical as required by Town Policy and the Town successfully completing a
background check as reasonably necessary to judge fitness for the duties for which hired and/or
drug and/or alcohol screenings, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes payment in the amount of$25.89 per
service to Mr. Comeau for service of any paper required by Town Court or any Town of Queensbury
Department, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town
Justices, Court Clerks and/or Town Budget Officer to complete any necessary forms and take any
actions necessary to effectuate this Resolution.

Re: Appointment of Part-Time Court Officer
Terry Comeau
Dear Supervisor Strough:
The Court would like to fill a vacancy for a Part-Time Court Officer which was
recently created by the resignation of Miguel Rosado.
We have received an application from Terry Comeau. Mr. Comeau is highly
qualified to fill all of the requirements of the position. He will retire as an officer and
investigator from the Warren County Sheriff's Office effective November 25, 2016. Mr.
Comeau would be a compliment to the Court staff. Mr. Comeau holds a pistol permit,he
is range qualified and up-to-date with peace officer status and other requirements
appropriate to the position. The Part-Time Court Officer position currently pays $16.00
per hour and it is generally at about 9-10 hours every other week. Mr. Comeau would be
a compliment to the Court staff.
Based upon all of the above we would ask that the Town Board give consideration
to this appointment as soon as possible and we would ask to be favored with a resolution
to that effect.
