Warren County Board of Supervisors
Municipal Center
Lake George, New York 12845
Dear Sirs,
At our last monthly meeting, the subject of the proposed four lane
highway acquisition on Bay Road was discussed. The Council. wishes
to go on record as opposing this acquisition. We feel that a good
two lane road with sufficient shoulders would be in the best interest
of County residents .
The four lane proposal would force the relocation of "Old Maid' s Brook
and cause irreparable harm to a vital trout spawning tributary of
Halfway Brook. It uld mean removing many old and beautiful trees
along the present toad, and environmental damage that is both esthetic
and actual.
T he ruination of the rural character of this part of the Town of Queensbury,
and damage to adjacent business and private properties cannot be justified.
The costs, monetary, environmental, and esthetic; based on a possible
need many years in the future; we feel are prohibitive.
Therefore, the Warren County Conservation Council asks the Board of
Supervisors to reconsider the need of this four lane acquisition.
Sincerely,
/s/
Stan Yurgartis
President, Warren County

Dear Mr. Austin:
At the annual meeting of the Assembly Point Association on July
13, 1974, several people expressed their concern and fears about the
S-curve on Bay Parkway between the Lake and Honeysuckle Lane on
Assembly Point. I am writing this letter on behalf of the Association
to request you to take whatever action is necessary to issue the
authority to Mr. Carl Garb to erect a stop-sign on Bay Parkway at the
point that it reaches Honeysuckle Lane. Mr. Garb agrees that this
could be a valuable step towards making this particular corner safer.
Mr. Enoch Zylowski, whose property abuts the corner, also agrees that a
stop-sign could help.
The stop-sign is a tangible step that can be taken now to improve
the situation. At the Assembly Point Association meeting, members
made other suggestions which the Town might consider in an attempt to
find a long-run solution: making the Bay Parkway from the Honeysuckle
Lane corner to the Shore Colony docks one-way in either direction;
widening all parts of the S-curve itself. Such changes , especially the
"one-way" suggestion call for careful study because new traffic patterns
could create hardships and dangers for people living on Bay Parkway and
Honeysuckle Lane in the area affected.
We shall be mest grateful for action by the Town of Queensbury. I
have discussed the ideas above with both Mr. Garb and Mr. Buckley.
Sincerely yours,
/s/
Charles F. Adamson
Carl Garb stated that one way would not work in that area. . . the stop
signs would probably be the best idea. . .
