MEMO:'1JLANDUM
TO: Ron. Town Board
From: G.A. Schlierer Date: October 10., 1974
Dept. Police Ref, to: Stop signs on Wen Ave.
After considerable observation of the area in question it is
evident that some traffic controls are in order on Owen Ave. The
Full stop signs serve this purpose and their removal would re-
create the same hazard that everyone is trying th eliminate. ,Sunset
will in the future be extended to Gilmore, thus increasing the hazard
at Owen and Sunset. I feel that all traffic control is in the interest
of Public Safety and this is the primary concern of your Police Dept.
I therefore recommend that these signs remain as they area

-Cemetery Commission
Attention Town Board:
Dear Sirs,
This is to inform you that the Cemetery Commission has felt
the need to increase the rates charged for the sale of lots and
for the many other services performed by the personel inorder
to more nearly cover actual costs and, also, to stay in line
with charges of other area cemeteries. These new rates were
240"1
voted on at the meeting of the Commission on Oct. 2, 1974 and
will become effective on Nov. 1 , 1974.
At this time we, also, recommend that the percentage kept from
these charges for Perpetual Care increase from the one quarter
which it now is to one third percent. The general Town income
will be higher than it has been .and the Perpetual Care Fund will
more nearly hold its own against inflation in the future. May we
have your approval of this percentage change before November 1st ?
Attached find a copy of the new rates.
Sincerely,
/s/ Margaret Prime
Secretary

Dear John;
Recently I had the misfortune to have my car stolen from my
driveway. I immediately contacted the Queensbury Police Department, who
were on the scene within five minutes. There is an old saying that out
of every misfortune some good will arise. . . .In my case the good was seeing
the efficiency and dedication of the men of the Queensbury Police. I was
especially impressed by two officers, Sgt. Morey and Ptl. Berry both of
whom spent part of their time off looking for my car. Sgt. Morey also
spent a great deal of time on his day off fingerprinting and looking for
other clues. Please extend my appreciation to the Chief and his fine
crew of men for a ,job well done. Queensbury can be proud to have such
a fine department.
Very truly yours, ---
