WHEREAS, the Glens Falls Lions Club has requested permission to conduct its sixth annual
Duathlon which will raise funds to enable them to continue their work in sight and hearing assistance
and preservation as follows:

EVENT: Duathlon
DATE: Sunday, October 8t'', 2017
TIME: Approximately 9:00 a.m.
PLACE: Beginning and ending at SUNY Adirondack
(Letter and Map regarding location of walk attached);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes the Glens Falls Lion Club to
conduct its second annual Duathlon within the Town of Queensbury as set forth above, contingent
upon the Town's receipt of proof of proper insurance, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board approves this event subject to approval by the Town
Highway Superintendent which approval may be revoked due to concern for road conditions at any
time up to the date and time of the event, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that this event shall also be subject to the approval of the Warren County
Superintendent of Public Works.

Dear Pamela,
The Glens Falls Lions Club, a not-for-profit 501c3 organization, is hosting its Sixth
annual Duathlon (a 5K Run, a 30K Bike, followed by another 5K Run) on Sunday,
October 8, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at SUNY Adirondack College. This race route starts and
finishes at the college while winding through the towns of Queensbury and Kingsbury.
The funds raised from this race will enable our organization to continue its work
providing sight and hearing assistance and preservation.
Attached is a map showing the race route. As part of our permitting process,the New
York State Department of Transportation requires approval by all local governing bodies.
We have already contacted the Warren County Sheriff's office and they will be providing
traffic control at all critical intersections located in the Town of Queensbury for this race.
The race starts at 9:00 AM and the event should be finished by noon.

I have reviewed the request for the Glens Falls Lions Club Duathlon, which is to be held on
Sunday, October 8, 2017, beginning at 9:00 am.
Weather permitting, I hereby grant my approval for this event to be held on the following
roadways that are under my jurisdiction: Rockwell Road, Cronin Road and Meadowbrook Road.
The remaining roadways are not in my jurisdiction and may require additional authorization.

Pamela, We will be running our event again this fall on October 8,2017 and will require approval form the Town of
Queensbury. Route is the same as last year. Attached is a letter which gives a brief description of the event. Providing
an insurance certificate to the Town of Queensbury will be no problem. We are in the process of getting event
insurance in place. Also attached is a map of the race route.
