Information meeting-Feasibility study on the proposed establishment of a sewage system in the northern portion of the town (Lk: George shore) Plum Point, Assembly Point, Dunhams Bay, Cleverdale, Rockhurst,Kattskill Bay, along. route 9L from Lake George Town liiie to Fort Ann Town Line (note) The Town of Lake George is well along with its plans for a sewage treatment plant - meetingturned over to Rist Frost Associates : Harold Rist: Three Main ideas to follow: 1. Hooking on with the Town of Lake George 2. the possibility of a transmission line down Bgyt Road or Ridge Road tying with the sewage system serving most of the town. 3. the establishment of a pumping station in Queensbury "Our job is to find the best way-; the least expensive way, to do the job. " Mr. Gallaway-assured the town that the Tmm of Lake George would cooperate with the Town of Queensbury. It was emphasized during the meeting that the study would be only a feasibility "study, they would not go into great detail, the study j_. according to Mr. Ray Irish would take approximately three to four months., Many residents of the Lake George area voiced the need for sewage system study and their support of hhis project. Mr. Scrafford - Building Inspector for the Town of Lake George, if the Town of Queensbury does intend to use the Lake George facilities they would like to know as soon as possible so they could make the proper engineering adjustments- 270 Supervisor Austin-noted that the study should give a broad indication of what the home owners in the area would be paying- -The study would be paid for out of the General Town Fund. - RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PRELIMINARY STUDY OF A PROPOSED QUEENSBURY SEWAGE DISTRICT FOR THE PART OF THE TOWN ON THE SHORE OF LAKE GEORGE RESOLUTION No. x.56 Introduced by Mr. Robert Barber who moved its a option, seconded y Mr. Daniel Olson: WHEREAS, the residents of the Lake George shore area of the Town of QueetbbVry seem to bel.favor of having a sanitary sewer system aimed at keeping Lake George water pure and WHEREAS the Town Board is also in agreement as to this possibility, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Firm of Rist Frost Associates be designated to conduct a preliminary study of this project at a cost not to exceed $15, 000. 00 such amount to be paid for from our unexpended balance. (Broughton) rezoning- 11-acres- R-4' to M-1 boundaries N-Broughton property on Quaker Road-E&S. by lnds. of Crockwell-W-Maurer referredito the Planning Board The Queensbury Police Department submitted their activity report for the month of April, 1973-to be placed on file in the Town Clerk's Office RESOLUTION PETITIONING THE WARREN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ACCEPT LUZERNE ROAD, SHERMAN AVENUE AND AVIATION ROAD AS WARREN COUNTY HIGHWAYS RESOLUTION NO ' R Introduced by Mr. Ha®old Robillard who moved its adoption, sec`onded by Mr. Gordon Streeter: WHEREAS, it is anticipated that Warren County will be reevaluating its highway system in the light of the proposed New York State Master Plan for Transportation; and WHEREAS, Luzerne Road and Sherman Avenue are Town of Queensbury high- ways , yet they are major thoroughfares between the City of Glens Falls and the Town of Lake Luzerne and are major traffic arteries in the Town of Queensbury highway system; and WHEREAS, Aviation Road is a Town of Queensbury highway, yet it is a major thoroughfare connecting Route 9 , the Adirondack Northway and West Mountain Road and is a major traffic artery in the Town of Queensbury highway system; and WHEREAS , the Town of Queensbury is unable properly to maintain said thoroughfares on present revenues because of the ever increasing use of said highways ; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby petitions the Warren County Board of Supervisors to accept Luzerne Road, Sherman Avenue and Aviation Road as Warren County highways ; and be it further RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be sent to N. Harwood Beaty, Chairman, Highway Committee, Warren County Board of Supervisors. 271 Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes : Mr. Olson, Mr. Barber, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Streeter, Mr. Austin Noes : None Absent : None RESOLUTION PETITIONING THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO INSTALL A FULL-PHASE TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT NEW YORK STATE ROUTE 149 (Farm-to-Market Road) AND WARREN COUNTY ROAD NO. 7 (Bay Road) ' RESOLTTION NO. 13$ Introduced by Mr. Robert Barber who moved its adoption seconded Rr. aniel Olson: WHEREAS, a serious cvess-traffic hazard has existed for many years at the intersection of New York State Route 149 (Farm-to-Market Road) and Warren County Route No. 7 (Bay Road) ; and WHEREAS, previous applications for additional traffic control at said intersection have been rejected; and WHEREAS, traffic on both highways has increased substantially since the last such application was made because of an increase in enrollment at Adirondack Community College, the establishment of new housing developments in the area; the opening of new commercial enterprises at the intersection and in the vicinity thereof; and a general increase in traffic to and from New England, Lake George and the Adirondack Northway; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury hereby petitions the New York State Department of Transportation to install a full-phase traffic signal at said intersection; and be it further RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be sent to Charles Carlson, Regional Director, and William Lennin, Resident Engineer, New York State Department of Transportation, and to Leslie Hayes Jr. , Clerk, Warren County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Austin noted that the revenue funds cannot be used for special districts or to match federal funds. Mr. Austin asked for the Boards opinions and the opinions of the public. g72 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING REVENUE-SHARING FUND RESOLUTION NO. 159 Introduced by Mr. John Austin who moved its adoption, secon a rdon Streeter: WHEREAS, all municipalities throughout the nation have received funds iuiddt..�` fl.eafederal revenue-sharing program, and WHEREAS, one of the requirements under the revenue-sharing act provides that each town, on or before June 20, must present a detailed report to the Department of the Treasury, Office of Reve Sharing, Washington, D. C. , outlining the manner in which the municipality has allocated the revenue-sharing funds to date, and WHEREAS, the Town Supervisor, has reviewed those areas of need in the town where funds from revenue-sharing program should be allocated and that such allocation be in keeping with the guideline as set forth by the Revenue-sharing act, be it RESOLVED, that the Town Supervisor is hereby required to publish a statement in the official papers on or before June 20, showing the allocation of the revenue-sharing funds as hereafter determined by the Town Board. Mr. Austin noted that his ideas were only suggestions. . . as to the spending of the monies. Mr. Barber inquired as to if there would be a list of the highways that might be re-done? Mr. Austin-yes V J. David Little-noted that Charles Wood had been given permission by the Environmental Conservation Department to fill in wet lands behind Storytown-Mr. Little noted that the Town had asked to be notified as to the permit but had received no answer. . Mr. Barber-voiced his opinion as to the blatant disregard for Glen Lake by Charles Wood and urged the Town Counsel to take " all legal steps possible " to halt the filling operation. Meeting opened to the Public 9: 17 P.M. John Rozelle-Resident of Cronin Road-presented. the Town Board with a petition 6f #fty}sixisignatures requesting a referendum on the proposed Ridgedale Drainage District. Mr. Austin-referred the petition to the Town Attorney Mr. Rozelle noted individall studies that have been made in his area. Mr. Austin asked that if studies have been made that they be available to the County of Warren Division of Public Works Mr. Sundberg-could the water be put into the city lines and if so where would this be- Mr. Austin-yes if the city agrees-the location would be a Grays at Ridge and Meadowbrook Mr. Robelle asked if a compactor had been considered for the Town Land- fill Mr. Barber noted that, that was a very expensive process. . . Mr. Robelle-complained about the appearance of the sewage disposal unit at the Regency Park Apartments . . Mr. Austin-this will be referred to the building inspector Al West-'Aillcrest Avenue-complaint that the buildtz left a temporary power hook-up over his property and : across the road. . . Mr. Barber-was a C/O issued to the houses? Mr. West-yes. Mr. West-we are now at a stalemate-until thiSAflxed the road cannot be paved. Mr. Austin- this is a serious situation and we would like to talk to you further. .,. please meet with the board.
