NY 12804 Residential Septic Alteration Re: Dalton Residence —Replacement Septic System FI =COPY Dear Dave: The Dalton residence has an existing failed septic system which will be decommissioned and partially removed during the installation of the replacement s-,stem. A deep soil test pit will be performed during the septic tank installation to confirm adequate soils prior to installation of the replacement system. On November 2. 2015. I performed a deep soil test pit and percolation test at the Monthie Propem located at 7 Hughes Court in Queensbury- this parcel is directly to the south and at the same elevation as the Dalton Parcel at 5 Hughes Court. The results of the testing are as follows: Deep Soil Test Pit 0—4" Topsoil 4— 16" Loamy Medium Coarse Sand 16—33" Fine Sand Trace Silty Sand Fill 33 —36" Topsoil .36-40" Loamy Medium Coarse Sand 40 —62" Medium Coarse Sand Mottling observed at 60" No groundwater observed The percolation test for the Dalton parcel was presoaked and the test was run 3 times until it stabilized with three consecutive runs of 1:28, 1:41 and 1:49 respectively. The design flow- for this 3 - bedroom residence at 110 gpd per bedroom requires 347 sf of absorptive area. The new replacement absorption system should consist of a new 1,000 gallon septic tank located east of the residence. a new distribution box. a 10 foot wide by 35 feet long absorption bed (350 sf) with 2 —30 foot long laterals located to the east of the residence. If buried topsoil is observed in the deep soil test pit then we will require the installer to remove the buried topsoil layer and in fill with loamy sand. Also, the water line from the curb stop to the residence will be relocated to maintain 10 ft of separation between the absorption system & the water line. The replacement septic system as installed was for a 3 bedroom home and consisted of a new 1,000 gallon septic tank, new distribution box and a 10 ft wide by 35 ft long absorption bed with 2 - 30 ft long pipe and stone laterals. The existing water line was relocated to maintain 10 ft of separation from the replacement absorption bed. The system conforms to the requirements of the approved replacement septic system design.
