Councilman Robert Barber Councilman Harold Robillard Councilman Gordon Streeter Councilman Town Counsel Harold Katz was absent The meeting was opened at 4:30 P.M. RESOLUTION REGARDING PUBLIC OFFICIAL BONDS RESOLUTION NO. 202, introduced by Mr. Demboski who moved its adoption seconded by Mr. Robillard. RESOLVED, that bonds of the following town employees of the Town of Queensbury are hereby approved as to form, amount, sufficiency of surety and manner of execution, as follows: NUMBER: SURETY PRINCIPAL AMOUNT BND 191 09 88 continental Ins. Leon LeRoy Bennett $4,000.00 RESOLVED, that the members of the Town Board sign a certificate to that effect upon public official bond described. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Mr. Demboski, Mr. Barber, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Streeter, Mr. Solomon. Noes: None. BUDGET NOTE RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY, NEW YORK IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 251,000.00 RESOLUTION NO. 2039 introduced by Mr. Solomon who moved its adoption seconded by Mr. Barber. WHEREAS, the Water Department of the Town of Queensbury has incurred expenditures which were of an emergency nature and for which no provision was made in the annual budget for the current fiscal year, BE IT RESOLVED, this 16th day of November, 1972 by the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, New York, as follows: Section 1. That pursuant to the Local Finance Law of the State of New York, the Town of Queensbury, New York for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of expenses of the Water Department incurred during a period of emergency shall issue and sell a budget note in the amount of $25,000.00 to mature on 1972. Section 2. That, except as herein specifically prescribed, said note shall be of the date, terms, form contents and place of payment and at a rate of interest not exceeding five percentum (5%) per annum as may be determined by the Town Supervisor, consistent, however, with the pro- visions of the said Local Finance Law of the State of New York; and shall be executed in the name of the said Town by its Supervisor and the seal of the Town shall be attached thereto. Section 3. That said note shall be sold at private sale by the Town Supervisor at a price of not less than par value and accrued interest, if any, and upon the due execution and sale of said note the same shall be delivered to the purchaser upon the payment by it to the Supervisor of the purchase price in cash; and the receipt of such Supervisor shall be a full acquittance to such purchaser who shall not be obliged to see to the application of the purchave money. Section 4. The full faith and credit of the Town of Queensbury, New York, are pledged to the punctual payment of principal and interest on said note. Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Mr. Demboski, Mr. Barber, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Streeter, Mr. Solomon. Noes: None. RESOLUTION TO ABANDON TOWN HIGHWAY RESOLUTION NO. 204, introduced by Mr. Robillard who moved its adoption seconded by Mr. Demboski. WHEREAS, CARL A. GARB, Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York has certified that the certain 43 town highway known as the Old Big Boom Road, also known as Old Big Bay Road, has not been opened or worked for more than ten years last past, and that the same is ,no longer used as a public highway, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that as provided by New York State Highway Law, Section 205, said Town highway known as the Old Big Boom Road and also known as Old Big Bay Road, be and the same hereby is deemed abandoned as a town highway. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Mr. Demboski, Mr. Barber, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Streeter, Mr. Solomon. Noes. None. highway Carl A. Garb, the town hig y announced that the p Landfill would be closed on Thanksgiving Day and it would also be closed on Sundays after December 3rd. The Landfill hours will be extended one hour more on Mondays and Fridays changing the closing hours on those days to 5 P.M. Letters from the Department of Health regarding the public water supply at Shore Colony and the Queensbury Water District were shown to the Board by the Supervisor showing that the water tested to be of safe sanitary quality. RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AUDIT OF BILLS RESOLUTION NO. 205 , introduced by Mr. Demboski who moved its adoption seconded by Mr. Robillard. RESOLVED, that the Audit of Bills as listed on Abstract 72-11 numbered 1357 through 1528 totaling $20,534.90 is hereby approved.
