The tested number is 3.00 ACH/50 Pascal. ❖ The total volume of conditioned space at 15 Elk Ridge Dr. is 19707 cubic feet taking into consideration all conditioned space in the home. The cubic feet per minute @ 50 Pascal was 986 CF1v/50. The height correction factor for New York State is 15.4 for a one story building, as such the tested home @ 15 Elk Ridge Dr. has the natural rate of air exchange of 0.195 air changes per hour/natural. ❖ Average homes built prior to the previous code requirements typically had air exchange rates from 0.35 to 1.0 ACH. Extremely tight new construction can achieve air change rates of 0.35ACH or less. Homes with air change rates below 0.20 ACH, require some form of mechanical ventilation to bring in fresh outside air for the health of the occupants and to control humidity. Since the blower door test indicates that the home currently has an air exchange rate of 0.195 air changes per hour natural, a heat recovery ventilation system has been installed.
