PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury's Parks and Recreation Director and Town Recreation
Commission have requested Town Board approval to purchase a commercial tractor with attachments
to replace a 28 year old Case tractor in the Parks and Recreation Department, and
WHEREAS, the Director obtained a quote under New York State Office of General Services
Pricing: Group 440625, Award 422792, Contract 4PC67693 for a 2017 Kubota MX5800 HST utility
tractor with attachments from authorized Kubota dealer, Salem Farm Supply, for the amount of
$41,737,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves of the Parks and Recreation
Director's purchase of a 2017 Kubota MX5800 HST utility tractor with attachments in accordance
with New York State Office of General Services Pricing: Group 440625, Award 422792, Contract
4PC67693, from authorized Kubota dealer, Salem Farm Supply, for the amount of$41,737 to be paid
for from Misc. Equipment Account No.: 001-7110-2001, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Parks
and Recreation Director and/or Budget Officer to amend the budget by reducing appropriation 001-
0000-0909 Fund Balance and increase appropriation 001-7110-2001 Miscellaneous Equipment by
$41,737 and take such other and further action as may be necessary to effectuate the terms of this
Resolution.

RE: REPLACEMENT TRACTOR PURCHASE
Please find attached a breakdown on pricing for two of the replacement tractors that were
considered by parks and Recreation as suitable tractor replacements. Each price quote includes
updated pricing form NY State OGS and NJ PA.
Based upon our research, department needs and a physical evaluation of each tractor, we
concluded that the Kubota Tractor is a better fit and the cost to acquire is less than the New
Holland Tractor. Therefore, I recommend purchase of the Kubota Tractor from Salem Farm
Supply.
