RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF $1,000 DONATION
FROM STEWART'S SHOPS TOWARDS SUPPORT OF TOWN
RECREATION PROGRAMS AT RIDGE-JENKINSVILLE PARK

WHEREAS, Stewart's Shops has offered to donate $1,000 to the Town of Queensbury Parks
and Recreation Department towards the support of recreation programs at the Ridge-Jenkinsville Park,
and
WHEREAS, the Town Board is honored by this generous offer, feels that such donation will
benefit Town residents, and therefore wishes to approve and authorize such donation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby approves and accepts the donation of
$1,000 from Stewart's Shops to the Town Parks and Recreation Department to be used towards the
support of recreation programs at the Ridge-Jenkinsville Park, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the Town Budget Officer to deposit
the donation and increase the Recreation Programs Expense Account No.: 001-7110-4824 by $1,000
and the Gifts and Donations Revenue Account No.: 001-0000-52705 by$1,000, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board authorizes and directs the Town's Director of Parks and
Recreation to send a certified copy of this Resolution to Stewart's Shops with a letter from the Town
thanking Stewart's Shops for its generosity.

I am pleased to inform you that Stewart's is donating $ 1,000.00 to Queensbury Parks& Recreation for
support of Ridge/Jenkinsville Park as part of the grand opening celebration of our new Queensbury shop.
It may be of interest to know that our contribution to you is part of our overall commitment to give back to the
communities that have supported us. Stewart's Shops will contribute$2.5 million with related family
foundations each contributing an equal amount.
We divide that amount into the following categories: Children/Recreation, Education,Arts, Health, Civic
Programs, Social, United Way and Miscellaneous, along with matching the contributions from customers'
donations to our Holiday Match program, which benefits children year round. Our contribution to you falls
under the Kids/Recreation category.
Since we try to accommodate as many non-profit groups as possible,we must limit our donations to once per
year. To make the donation process even easier, please know that we do offer an ONLINE REQUEST
FORM on our website:www.stewartshops.com/contributions.This online form can be used for
product,gift certificate and monetary requests.We do require a three week lead time.
Also,we often like to highlight our donation to you on our shop TVs,website, and social media(find us on
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!).This will increase your organization's visibility and encourage others to
support your organization. Please email your photos of how this donation was used to
photo@stewartsshops.com (.jpg or.png preferred)with your organization's name in.the subject line.
We ask that you refer to us as Stewart's Shops in all recognition. Please note our current logo, as seen at

We fully understand the concerns about cultivating donors, but a simple letter from a person who benefited or
from the organization may be just as effective, rather than a plaque or other form of recognition. We find that
these hard times can often make us better and this may be an area where"less is more."
