3.8 3.8 APPOINTMENTSTrohationary Period—Did Not Meet Requirements for Promotion at Highway—Michael Brunelle—4-2-18 RESOLUTION REGARDING EXTENSION OF PROBATION PERIOD AND ACKNOWLEDGING MICHAEL BRUNELLE'S RETURN TO LABORER POSITION IN TOWN HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT RESOLUTION NO. ,2018 INTRODUCED BY: WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: WHEREAS, by Resolution No.: 285,2017, the Queensbury Town Board authorized the promotion of Michael Brunelle from Laborer to Motor Equipment Operator (MEO) in the Town Highway Department subject to a ninety (90) day probationary period and any other applicable Civil Service requirements, and WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent extended Mr. Brunche's probationary period through March 12, 2018, and WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has advised that Mr. Brunelle has not successfully completed his probationary period and therefore, in accordance with the Town's current Agreement with its Civil Service Employee Association, Mr. Brunelle shall return to the job title he previously held, that of Laborer,with no loss of seniority, WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to authorize and ratify Mr. Brunche's extended probationary period through March 12th, 2018 and acknowledges Mr. Brunche's return to the Laborer position, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and ratifies Michael Brunche's extended probationary period as Motor Equipment Operator (MEO) in the Town Highway Department through March 12', 2018, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board further acknowledges that as Mr. Brunelle did not successfully complete his probationary period in the MEO position, Mr. Brunelle shall return to the job title he previously held (Laborer) with no loss of seniority, at the rate of pay specified in the Town's CSEA Union Agreement for the Laborer position, and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town Highway Superintendent and/or Budget Officer to complete any forms and take any action necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. Duly adopted this 2nd day of April, 2018 by the following vote: AYES NOES ABSENT: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROMOTION OF MICHAEL BRUNELLE FROM LABORER TO MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR(MEO) IN TOWN HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT RESOLUTION NO. 285,2017 INTRODUCED BY: Mr.Tim Brewer WHO MOVED FOR ITS ADOPTION SECONDED BY: Mr.Brian Clements WHEREAS, the Town of Queensbury's Highway Superintendent has advised that there is currently a vacancy in the Motor Equipment Operator (MEO) position in the Town Highway Department,and WHEREAS, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Highway Superintendent posted for such position,and WHEREAS, Michael Brunelle, a current Laborer within the Department, has requested a promotion to the position,and WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent recommends that the Town Board authorize the promotion of Michael Brunelle from Laborer to MEO as Mr. Brunelle has met the qualifications and has the required job experience for the position, and WHEREAS,the Town Board wishes to authorize the requested promotion, NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Queensbury Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the promotion of Michael Brunelle from Laborer to Motor Equipment Operator (MEO) in the Town Highway Department effective on or about September 26th, 2017 at the rate of pay specified in the Town's CSEA Union Agreement for the MEO position for the year 2017, subject to a ninety (90) day probationary period and any other applicable Civil Service requirements,and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes and directs the Town Supervisor, Town Highway Superintendent and/or Budget Officer to complete any forms and take any action necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
