(BUTTERFLY) Moldboard: The butterfly-contoured moldboard combines the features of a reversible trip moldboard with snow throwing capabilities of a one-way plow. The moldboard is 132 wide in the bulldoze position. It will clear a path at 35 degrees of angle in either direction of approximately 108. The moldboard attack angle to the road surface is set at 60 degrees for moderate speed plowing. The moldboard at the center of the blade is 36 developing to 54 left and right side of the plow. This funnel shaping provides the one-way plowing action. The overhang of the top edge of the moldboard from the cutting edge is 10-1/4. The moldboard shall consist of a steel framework supporting a 10-ga. steel skin plate. The skin plate shall be break formed for increased rigidity. The skin plate support framework shall consist of nine 3/8 x 3-1/2 deep flame cut ribs and a base backer angle of 5 x 3-1/2 x 3/4 structural angle. The base backer angle shall be gusseted between the moldboard shoe locations. The moldboard shall be factory punched to accept either 8 or 12 AASHO punched cutting edges. The plow is supplied with one 1/2 x 8 C-1085 cutting edge,two (2) moldboard shoes and one curb shoe at each end. Push Frame: The push frame shall attach at four(4)points evenly spaced on 1-1/4 diameter pins through dual ribs. The attach pins shall have a 1-1/2 thick bearing area at each location. There shall be four (4) 5/8 " wire x 3-12 " OD x 22-1/2 long tension springs which return the moldboard to the upright position after it has tripped to rise over an obstruction in the road way. EDD 1500D (AUTOMATIC) 12-15'TARP CENTRAL HYDRAULIC SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS HYDRAULIC PUMP The front mounted flow and pressure compensated pump shall be driven direct and in-line with the crankshaft through a double universal joint driveline. The hydraulic pump must be of piston type and capable of 37 GPM at 2000 engine RPM. Pressure sense line must be internally bled at the pump. Pump case drain must be plumbed directly to reservoir-not through return line filter. Low Oil Shut Down: A single normally open,two position, two way poppet type solenoid valve must be mounted directly to the hydraulic pump discharge port in such a way as to stop all oil flow to the hydraulic system when energized. The solenoid valve must be wired directly to an in tank mounted level indicator. The level indication shall be of the float type and mounted from the top of the reservoir. When the float switch contacts close,the shut-down valve blocks pump flow and an annunicator on the main control will be activated. The momentary switch shall be mounted on dash board for low oil shut-down override. This switch shall be wired in such a way as to de-energize the system shut-down to facilitate fault finding and equipment stopping. DRIVELINE The hydraulic pump is to be driven by a 1310 series driveline off the engine harmonic balancer which must accept a 1350 series flange yoke. The driveline can have no more than a 4 degree operating angle and must be assembled with proper slip movement. HYDRAULIC VALVING Central hydraulic system valving shall be of mobil design made to withstand exposure to de- icing chemicals and severe weather conditions without the use of a watertight enclosure. It shall be of cast iron construction-horizontally stackable and serviceable without disassembly. Each section must have a built-in flow and pressure compensator,to allow simultaneous operation regardless of any other system function. SPREADER CONTROL VALVE A dual pressure compensated flow control valve shall allow individual selection of auger speed and spinner speed. Thus providing positive and independent application and spreading width. This valve allows two separate hydraulic circuits to operate independently from one pump. Flow rate to each circuit can be adjusted and will remain constant under all load conditions. Spreader valve shall incorporate an on-off handle to shut down flow to spinner and auger functions, thus, eliminating readjustment of spinner and auger control knobs. HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR 9 • Hydraulic reservoir to a minimum of 30 gallon capacity. The reservoir must be baffled,have a magnetic drain plug,pressurized breather cap and a suction strainer with a minimum 2" NPTF outlet. Reservoir shall also have an electrical low lever indicator. FILTRATION A 10 micron filter must be installed in the return line of the reservoir. The filter assembly must have a 25 PSI bypass and an element condition indicator. HYDRAULIC LINES AND PLUMBING All hydraulic lines,pipes,hosed, and fitting shall be of sufficient capacity to accommodate the volume of oil without undue hating or turbulence in the system. A 2" suction line with a minimum SAE rating of 100-R4 must be used between the reservoir and the inlet of the pump. All of the pressure hosed, including the signal sensing line to the pump must have swivel fittings on both ends and have a minimum SAE rating of 100-R2. Return lines and the case drain line must have a minimum SAE rating of 100-R1. Hydraulic lines shall be routed to minimize interference with equipment and chassis components requiring periodic servicing. Appropriate support brackets, grommets, and ty-raps shall be provided to protect lines from abrasion, cutting and impact damage. Hoses shall not be installed near manifold or exhaust pipes so as to be affected by extreme heat. There shall be no pipe fittings used with any high pressure lines. Any and all hydraulic quick disconnect couplings used for spreader system and snow plow reversing system shall be of the bulkhead mounted style and rigidly attached without the use of any hose clamp arrangements (loose hose ends are not acceptable). Dust cap for male ends and dust plug for female ends must be attached to couplers. Maximum distance allowed between support clamps on all hydraulic hoses shall be approximately 24". CS-550 LITE Spreader Control; BID OPTION The CAN Bus spreader control system shall be ground speed orientated to maintain a pre- determined application rate regardless of vehicle speed. Control shall be by microprocessor for high control accuracy with the outputs being current compensated. The controller shall be capable of having 4 different solid material calibrations, 4 different prewet liquid calibrations and 4 different anti-ice material calibrations for a total of 12 different materials. Each material shall have 9 programmable application rates. Controller shall have 3 detented rotary knobs for application rate selection. Each knob shall have stainless steel shafts and have a rotational torque of at least 8 oz-in. The controller shall be capable of operating Auger/Conveyor, Spinner, Pre-Wet, Anti-Ice,Cross Conveyor, Air Gate, Closed Loop Gate and Spinner Chute control. It must be capable of operating the Spinner, Auger/Conveyor,Pre-Wet, and Anti-Ice all at the same time. The Controller shall have the following features: Gate Read Back: Spreader control must be capable of reading a gate feedback signal to alert driver when gate is out of range and inaccurate spreading may be occurring. This requires optional feedback sensor. GPS Compatible: The controller, as supplied, must be capable of passing data logging information directly to an external GPS system without having to purchase additional equipment from the spreader controller manufacturer. Temperature Read Back and Temperature Compensation: The controller shall be capable of displaying both road temperature and ambient air temperature on screen when an external temperature sensor is used. The controller shall be capable of automatically increasing the application rate in response to decreasing road temperature. The rate at which the controller increases the application shall be adjustable in the controllers programming. Onboard Wi-Fi and GPS Info: The controller shall have built-in Wi-Fi and GPS for optional data downloading. This requires optional Wi-fi and GPS antennas.Also requires municipalities router and IT set-up of router along with internal municipal IT support;if this option is used. Auto Nulling: The controller shall be capable of auto nulling spinner, conveyor/auger and liquid channels when feedback sensors are used. Manual Nulling must be available for all circuits including cross 11 conveyor left and right. System Programming: Programming shall only be accessed by use of an encrypted USB key. All programming shall be done by using the touch screen display.The touch screen display shall have a pop-up keyboard for easy entering of information. Material Set Back: When using liquid to pre-wet granular material the controller must be capable of cutting back the granular material by a predetermined percentage when the liquid is being applied. The percentage shall be programmable. Trip Summary Information: The driver must be able to access a trip summary screen that will show them miles traveled and material spread quantities. This information shall also be stored in the controller and used to calculate season totals. On Screen Error Code Log: For ease of troubleshooting,the controller shall have an on screen error log that is capable of displaying any error codes that have been generated. The error log shall not clear itself when the controller is powered off. Data Logging: The controller,as supplied, shall be capable of event based data logging such as Event time, Date, Material set-point and usage amounts, Spinner set-point,Pre-Wet set-point and usage amounts,Blast distance and amount used,Pause distance, Gate Setting, and Road Temperature. All the information will be transferred from the spreader control to a desktop/laptop computer via USB drive.All data logging information must be capable of being customized and exported. Summation reports are not acceptable. Software Updates: The spreader control software must be able to be upgraded via desktop/laptop computer and by encrypted USB key. EPROM changes are not acceptable.
