Noes: None RESOLUTION NO. 162, Introduced by Mr. Robillard, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Austin. WHEREAS, application has been made by Desantis Enterprises, Inc. for the rezoning of an area bounded by the Hudson River on the south the New York State Northway (Route 87) on the west; the northerly boundary of lands of Roland E. and Ora L. Bardin on the north; and lands of Finch, Pruyn Corporation and Internationsl Paper Company on the east, from an R-3 residential district to an M-1 light industrial district, and WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Queensbury, Section 11: 100 and Sections 264 and 265 , Art. 16, Chapter 62 of the Consolidated Laws of the State of New York provide that any proposed amendment or change in the Zoning Ordinance be referred to the Planning Board for a report thereon and a public hearing be held thereon, and WHEREAS, The Planning Board has met and reviewed the request for said zoning change and has recommended approval thereof, now therefore be it RESOLVED, a public hearing be held on July 23, 1970 on such application and notice thereof be published in the officialtown newspaper at least (10) days in advance of such hearing. RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PUBLIC HEARING RESOLUTION No. 174, introduced by Mr. Austin, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Robillard. WHEREAS, Mr. Robert Ryan of 24 Briwood Circle, Glens Falls, New York, has made application in accordance with paragraph 2 (c) Section 4, of an ordinance of the Town of Queensbury entitled ORDINANCE FOR THE REGULATION OF MOBILE HOMES AND MOBILE HOME COURTS IN THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY, WARREN COUNTY, NEW YORK, to locate a mobile home outside of a duly licensed mobile home court at property situated Lot 7, Burch Road, Town of Queensbury, New York, and WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that said application complies with the requirements of said ordinance, and WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that the facts presented in said application are sufficient to justify further consideration by this board, therefore be it 164 RESOLVED, that pursuant to the provisions of the above mentioned ordinance, the town board shall conduct a public hearing on said application on July 23 , 1970 at 8:15 P.M. in the Queensbury Town Office Building, Bay Road, and that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give proper notice of said public hearing in accordance with the provisions of said ordinance. Noes: None The Supervisor opened the meeting to the public. Dr. Robert Wescott asked the board to consider fluoridation of the Queensbury water supply. He said it was a thoroughly proven and safe means of treating a defici- ency disease which we have in this area -- dental caries. He said that upwards of 88 million Americans are enjoying the benefits of controlled and natural fluoridation. He said -the case of -fluoridation is almost unimpeachable from a scientific point of view. Every reputable and recognized scientific group in the United States supports it. Super- visor Solomon promised that the board would discuss the matter further. The meeting was closed to the public. RESOLUTION TO ISSUE JUNK YARD LICENSES FOR CALENDAR YEAR 1970 RESOLUTION No. 177, introduced by Mr. Solomon, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Demboski. WHEREAS, the following applicants have made application to the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury for the renewal of their Junk Yard Licenses for the year 1970, and said applications have been accompained by the proper license fee of $25.00 in accordance with the Queensbury Junk Yard Ordinance as adopted on June 9, 1966. WHEREAS, the applicants have agreed to comply with all of the provisions of said Ordinance, subject to certain conditions therefore be it RESOLVED, that the renewal of the Junk Yard Licenses of the above listed applicants for the caldendar year 1970, be and the same are hereby approved, and be it further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized and directed to issue said renewal licenses and deposit the fees in the General Fund of the Town providing that that conditions are met prior to issuing the license. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Mr. Demboski, Mr. Austin, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Robertson, and Mr. Solomon. Noes: None Councilman Austin called attention to continuing evidences of violation to the Junk Yard Ordinance and said he felt it should be strongly en- forced. It was pointed out that Mosher' s yard would accept all junk cars without cost. It was pointed out that the ordinance prohibits two or more inoperable cars on any one' s property. It was pointed out that perhaps the public was not aware that the cars could be disposed of at no cost to them. The paper was asked to publicize the fact. Councilman Austin called attention to the two highway improvements in the town, the nearly completed Oxbow intersection reconstruction and correction of a drainage situation in the intersection of Sunnyside and Ridge Roads. Councilman Demboski noted that the summer recreation program in the town is well under way. He termed it well-run and well-sponsored and urged all residents of the Town to take full advantage of the facilities. &A. RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AUDIT OF BILLS RESOLUTION No. 178, introduced by Mr. Austin, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Solomon. RESOLVED, that the Audit of Bills as listed in Abstract 70-7A numbered 840 through 948 inclusive and totaling $18,674.29 is hereby approved.
