Deputy Superintendent of Highways,Herbert Corlew and Councilman Hammond Robertson, Jr. , recommended the acceptance of the bid of Carswell Trucks, Inc. to furnish the Highway Department with three (3) 1969 - V8 trucks per specifications at a net price of $41,250.00. Mr. Corlew also recommended the acceptance of the bid of State Equipment Company to furnish the Highway Department - with five (5) , Hydraulic Spreaders, at a total price of $5,950.00. A recommendation was also forthcoming from the Deputy,, Superintendent Highways to accept the bid of Air-Land Motor Parts for supplying certain tools _at__a Net Price_of $2,570-.-00 RESOLUTION NO. 218, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Turner. WHEREAS, the Deputy Superintendent of Highways did on the 26th day of September duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery pursuant to the provisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law, NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that pursuant to Section 142 of the Highway Law the Deputy Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of Artigle 5-A of the General Municipal Law, with the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways, the following: Three Model 2010A 148" wheelbase 1969 International Dump Trucks from Carswell Trucks, Inc. , for a maximum delivered price of $41,250.00 delivered to the Town of Queensbury in approximately 90 days. The Deputy Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized, subject to the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways, to surrender to the Vendor three(3) Fleet #5 1964 International 1800 Dump, Fleet #8 1963 International 1800 dump and Fleet #9A 1961 International B-180 Dump as part payment for the above machinery to be purchased. RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized to pay to Charlotte Codner, pursuant to the provisions of Section 103-a of the Decedent Estate Law, the salary due to Bernard J. Codner as Highway Superintendent in the amount of $300.00 less the necessary and proper deductions therefrom and be it further RESOLVED that the vacation pay also due to Bernard J. Mr. & Mrs. Pliney Tucker - Visitors Mrs. Sterling Akins - Visitor Thomas J. Flaherty - Super. Queensbury Water District Mr. Pliney Tucker spoke from the floor; with a question as to whether or not the ruling of the Hudson River Valley Commission has been received to do with the proposed land-fill operation on the Corinth Road. Supervisor Solomon stated that to date - the Report has not been received. The Clerk presented an application for aMobile Home Permit from Mr. Arthur Wells to locate a Mobile Home on Corinth Road. Councilman Robillard moved that the application be denied. Carried unanimously. Following discussion by the Town: Board, the application of Ronald StGermain for a permit to locate a Mobile Home on Mountain View Lane was tabled for further study by the Board.
