Solomon Supervisor Lloyd Demboski Councilman Absent Theodore Turner Councilman Harold Robillard Councilman Hammond Robertson, Jr. Councilman The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at 8:10 P.M. Supervisor Solomon greeted the following visitors; Ronald G. St.Germain Gary Trombley - Visitor Linwood Chase - Visitor John Austin, Jr. - Radio Station WWSC Carl Garb - Visitor LeRoy Phillips - Chief of Police Thomas K. Flaherty - Superintendent of Queensbury Water POLICE Department November 26, 1968 TOWN BOARD TOWN OF QUEENSBURY Gentlemen: ' Please accept this as my resignation as Chief of Police for the Town of Queensbury, effective as soon as a replacement can conveniently be effected. It has been a pleasure for me to serve the people of the Town of Queensbury and I am grateful for the splended cooperation that has been afforded me by the various departments of Town Government, and the public in general. I am particularly grateful to the members of the Town Board, both past and present for their many considerations. Thank you again Sincerely LeRoy Phillips Councilman Robertson stated that the Town Board appreciates the past services of LeRoy Phillips. Mr. Phillips will be appointed tonight as Assistant Zoning Enforcement Officer. Supervisor Solomon stated that he appreciates the fact that Mr. Phillips has accomplished good results in the capacity of Chief of Police. Supervisor Solomon explained to Mr. Ronald St.Germain that his application for a Mobile Home permit must be deferred for an �- opinion of the Town Board, to be aired at the next meeting date. RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PUBLIC HEARING RESOLUTION NO. 256, introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Demboski. WHEREAS, Mrs. Grace Whiting of Maine and Central Avenues, has made application in accordance with paragraph 2 (c) Section 4, of an ordinance of the Town of Queensbury. entitled ORDINANCE FOR THE REGULATION OF MOBILE HOMES AND. MOBILE.HOME COURTS IN THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY, WARREN- COUNTY. - NEW-YORK, to locate a mobile home outside of a duly licensed mobile home court at property situated Maine and Central Avenues, and .92 WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that said application complies with the requirements of said ordinance, and WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that the facts presented in said application are sufficient to justify further consideration by this board, therefore be it RESOLVED, that pursuant to the provisions of the above mentioned ordinance, the town board shall conduct a public hearing on said application on December 12, 1968, at 8:00 p.m. in the Queensbury Town Office Building, Bay Road, and that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give proper notice of said public hearing in accordance with the provisions of said ordinance. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Demboski, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Solomon. Noes - None Supervisor Solomon announced that a Mr. Ed. Johnson visited the Town Board meeting this evening. Mr. Johnson is representing "All State Crushers" who have a machine in the Town of Queensbury at present and they are in hopes of crushing up the bulk of the Junk Cars in the Town in order to ri&the locality of the present eye-sore conditions. The service to individual property owners will be free of any fee. RESOLUTION TO APPOINT CHIEF OF POLICE RESOLUTION NO. 257, introduced by Mr. Robillard, seconded by Mr. Demboski. WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury have interviewed several applicants for the position of Chief of Police in the Town, and WHEREAS, there has been established, the fact that an experienced individual is the type of person to be appointed to the position, therefore be it RESOLVED, that Gilbert A. Schlierer be and he is appointed as active Chief of Police of the Town of Queensbury to become effective on December 2, 1968. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Demboski, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Solomon. Noes - None RESOLUTION F0$ THE COLLECTION `OF WATER RENTS F0$ THE.-COLLECTION PERIOD BEGINNING NOV8MELA,j;v 1968 RESOLUTION NO. 258, introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Solomon. WHEREAS, Thomas K. Noes - None RESOLUTION NO. 259, introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Solomon. WHEREAS, Mr. LeRoy Phillips has resigned as Chief of Police of the Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS, their is evident need of assistance in the department of Zoning enforcement and,.Building Inspector, therefore be it RESOLVED, that LeRoy A. Phillips be and he is appointed as Assistant Building Inspector with duties pertaining to Zoning Enforcement. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Demboski, Mr. Robillard, Mr. Robertson, and Mr. Solomon. Noes - None November 27, 1968 REPORT TO THE TOWN BOARD REGARDING CORRECTION IN TOTAL OF UNPAID WATER RENTS AS REPORTED NOVEMBER 7. 1968 It has been found that duplicate bills were listed in the Queensbury WaterDistrict, namely to Westfield Buidlers and Robert Sullivan. The following is a corrected total of water bills as received to the County of Warren for the 1969 Town Tax bills and Assessment Roll.
