Harwood Beaty Councilman Theodore Turner Councilman Curtis Lampson Councilman Absent Hammond Robertson, Jr. Councilman The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at 8:00 p.m. Supervisor Webster greeted the following visitors: Mrs. Edward Barrett - League of Women Voters John Goodale - Interested .in Mobil Home application. Florence Mcllvaine - Reporter, The Post Star i Supervisor Webster announced the opening of the Public Hearing to do with the acceptance of the Preliminary Budget of the Benefit Assessment Districts of the Town of Queensbury. Proof of Publication was presented by the clerk. The Supervisor requested a voice from any persons present in reference to the acceptance of the budgets as prepared. $ There wes none The Public Hearing was closed at 8:05 p.m. Mr. John Goodale was granted the floor. Mr. Goodale requested a decision on the application as presented previously by him for a permit to locate a Mobile Home .on Sanders Road. The Supervisor stated that action on the grantings of permits would take place at an early date. Bernard J. Codner, Superintendent of Highways, Mr. Thomas K. Flaherty, Superintendent of Queensbury. Water District and LeRoy Phillips, Chief of ,Pol$ce visited the meeting at this time. The minutes of the meetings of September 28th, October 3rd and October 5th, 1967 were approved. Carried unanimously. 30D RESOLUTION TO APPROVE BENEFIT ASSESSMENT ROLLS RESOLUTION NO. 212, Introduced by Mr. Beaty, seconded .by Mr. Turner. WHEREAS, this Town Board has met .at .the time and .place specified in the Notice of Public Hearing on the Benefit Assessment Rolls of the Reservoir Park -Sewer District, the Pershing-Ashlly-Coolidge Sewer District, the Pershing Ashley-Coolidge Sewer District Extension. #4, and the Queensbury Drainage District, and has heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Assessment Rolls of the above mentioned benefit districts, as prepared, are hereby approved. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr., Lampson and Mr. Webster, Noes - None e e Supervisor Webster announced the following; Repartme itFlaf7r,_Transportation 'Public Dearing on fh* questionof the Aviation Road re-building. The petition has been received by the Water Resources Commission of the State of New York on the application of the Town of Queensbury to make use of the waters of Lake George for Municipal Water Supply. The report of the Building Inspector was received and placed on file. The balance of the Teport of New Construction of the month of -- September, 1967 was received. There were 9 additional starts -reported. The report of the Police Department was received and placed on file. The Highway Financial report to date was received and placed on file. Supervisor Webster -announced the receipt of a request from Adirondack Community College for lights at the two entrances of the college on Bay Road. RESOLUTION N0. 213, Introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Beaty. WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that a dangerous condition exists at the following intersection's: Bay Road at each entrance to Adirondack College on N.Y.P. & L Poles #99 & #105, also at Bay Road at Walkup Road on Pole #159, also at Gurney Lane and West Mountain -Road on Pole #7 RESOLVED, that a 175 watt mercury corrected white highway light be authorized for these intersection's and that the Town Clerk be and he is authorized and directed to contact the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation and make all necessary arrangements so that these authorized highway lights may be installed. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson and Mr. Webster Noes - None Mr. Bernard J. Codner., Superintendent of Highways reported on the erection of Street Signs throughout the highways within the Town. Mr, Thomas Lawson, Canidate for Election as. County Supervisor for 1968, visited the meeting at this time. 804 Bernard J. Codner, Superintendent of Highways recommended that the highway name of T.R. #45 known now as "Noyes Road" be changed to _"Seelye °Road". ° RESOLUTION TO CHANGE NAME OF TOWN HIGHWAY RESOLUTION- NO, 214, Introduced by Mr. Lampson, seconded by Mr. Turner. WHEREAS, the highway Superintendent, Bernard J. Codner did on October 12, 1967 recommend the changing of the name of a town Highway known as Highway # 45 Noyes Road to Seelye Road, Highway #45. RESOLVED, that the name of town Highway #45 Noyes Road be and the same is hereby changed to Highway #45 Seelye Road. Duly ad"Ited by the following vote: Ayes Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. 1ampson and Mr. Webster Noes - None RESOLUTION N0, 215, Introduced by Mr. Beaty, seconded by Mr. Turner. RESOLVED that the Audit of Claims as listed in Abstract # 67-10 numbered #984 through #1064 inclusive totaling $17,323.02 is hereby approved. Proof of Publication was presented by the clerk. The clerk read aloud the proposed drafts of the contracts as revised for - Bay Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , North Queensbury Vol- unteer Fire Company, Inc. , South Queensbury Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , and West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , and a renewal of the present contract with Queensbury Central Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , and the Town of Queensbury.
