1967-11-02 SP Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Webster Noes - None RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE HIGHWAY LIGHT ON BAY ROAD AT BAYBERRY COURT RESOLUTION NO. 220, Introduced by Mr. Robertson, seconded by Mr. Turner WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that a dangerous condition exists at the following intersection: G Bay Road at Bayberry Court RESOLVED, that a 175 watt mercury corrected white highway light be authorized for this intersection and that the Town Clerk be and he is authorized and directed to contact the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation and make all necessary arrangements so that this authorized Highway Light may be installed. Proof of publication was presented by the clerk. With no persons in appearance in favor of or in opposition to the granting of the permit the hearing was closed at 8:05 p.m. 812 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PERMIT FOR MOBILE HOME #97 RESOLUTION NO. 222, Introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Lampson. WHEREAS, John Goodell of P. 0. Box 167 Glens Falls, New York, has made application in accordance with paragraph 2 (c) Section 4, of an ordinance of the Town of Queensbury entitled: ORDNANCE FOR THE REGULATION OF MOBILE HOMES and MOBILE HOME COURTS IN THE TOWN OF QUEENSBURY, WARREN COUNTY, NEW YORK, to locate a mobile home outside of a duly licnesed mobile home court at property situated Sanders Road, Town of Queensbury, and WHEREAS, this town board has conducted a public hearing in connection with said application and has heard all persons desiring to ,be heard in favor of or against said application, and WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that the facts presented in said application and at said public hearing are sufficient to authorize the issuance of the permit requested by said application, for the following reasons: There were no persons in appearance ,in opposition to the granting of the permit. Supervisor Webster announced that two persons wererun-intentionally omitted inthe original Resolution #219 when the committee was appointed to investigate the possibility of developing Low-Cost Housing within the Townof Queensbury. The following ,resolution was adopted to name those two persons to the Committee. RESOLUTION TO APPOINT MEMBERS TO LOW COST HOUSING COMMITTEE FOR LOW INCOME HOUSING AND HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY. Webster, Supervisor --- Dear Sirs: In as 'much as it was originally recommended that -the-police I department have six special policemen serving without pay and at the pleasure of the board, I would like to recommend that the appointment of one Pasquale Catone of Country Colony Drive be considered for appointment. This would bring the total to the recommended six. WHEREAS, Cheif of Police, LeRoy Phillips has recommended the appointment of (1) one additional Special Policeman to serve without salary and at the pleasure of the Town Board, therefore be it RESOLVED, that Pasquale Catone, Country Colony Drive, R.F.D. #1 Glens Falls, New York, Town of Queensbury is hereby appointed as —' Special Policeman, effective immediately.. Noes - None RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH VACATION AND SICK LEAVE POLICY RESOLUTION NO. 225, Introduced by Mr. Webster, seconded by Mr. Beaty. WHEREAS, it is hereby'deemed adviseable that definite vacation and sick leave policy be established for all employees of the Town of Queensbury, in all departments. RESOLVED, that each officer and employee of the Town of Queensbury shall be entitled in each year to a vacation with pay, to be taken in the year in which entitled and not accumulative, as follows: Any officer or employee who has been in continuous service for more than one year but less than ten years, ten working days. Any officer or employee who has been in continuous service for more than ten years but less than twenty years, fifteen days. Any officer or employee who has been in continuous service for more than twenty years, twenty working days, and be it further RESOLVED, that each officer or employee who is paid on an annual basis for full time work, either on salary or by the hour, shall be entitled to sick leave with pay_computed on the basis of twelve working days in each year and unused sick leave may be accumulated to a maximum of one hundred twenty days, and be it further 814 RESOLVED, that any employee whose position is abolished or whose employment is terminated for other than cause shall be entitled upon the termination of employment for unused vacation to which such employee would have been entitled in that year if employment has been continued, but under no circumstances shall an employee be compensated for unused sick leave, and be it further RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately and shall apply retroactively, so that all employees of the Town of Queensbury are entitled to the above benefits based upon their present length of service. Codner - Superintendent of Highways LeRoy Phillips - Chief of Police Supervisor Webster announced the opening of the public hearing on the Preliminary Budget for the year 1968. Proof of publication was presented by the clerk. The notice as publiched twice in the Glens Falls Times and the Post Star was read by the clerk. Councilman Rlect Dembroski discussed items in Item #1 of the Highway Budget as presented. Thomas K. Flaherty Superintendent of Queensbury Water visited the meeting at this time. -With no further questions on the budget the public hearing was closed at 8:15 p.m. 'The minutes of the meeting of November, 2, 1967 were approved. Carried unanimously. The clerk read a notice of action to do with Route 9 - Aviation Road by the Department of Transportation. The monthly -reports of the Zoning and Building Inspector and the Chief of Police were received and placed on file.
