j ATTENTION:
-- QUEENSBURY TOWN BOARD
Gentlemen:
In the interest of Town Health and Safety, we strongly .
request that the Town Board of Queensbury consider the
problem of the burning of leaves which has become ex
tensive during this past week.
We cite the- following hazards that result from this
practice:
1. Pollution of the air which causes many people
with upper respiratoryLl disorders undue suffering
2. Traffic hazards- due to the thick smoke
3. Danger of fire -
Since the burning is so common and widespread, we think .
it the responsibility of the- Town to find a substitute
—' method for its occupants to dispose of their leaves. j
We strongly recommend that the Town Board enact legislation
to provide for the pickupeof leaves during the month of
October in the interest of public health and safety.
Very truly yours,
Mr. & Mrs. Irving Esner 5 Northup Drive, Glens Falls, N. Y.
