Flaherty - .Superintendent of- Queensbury Water District Rlzrence <Mellvaine - Reporter, the Post Star The public hearing was declared open by the Supervisor on the consolidation of the Bay Road Water District with the Queeusbury - Water Distract. Proof of publication was presented by the clerk. Reading of the "Notice" was dispensed with at this time. Supervisor Wej)ster requested a voice from any one present in opposition or in favor .of the completion of the consolidation. There were none. The Public Hearing was declared closed at 7:38 p.m. :,:-Xr, ,Robert Saville was granted the floor. Mr. Saville presented the following petition which bore 77 signatures of residents of the area of South Queensbury. The minutes of the meeting of June 30, 1966 were approved. Carried unanimously. The clerk presented an application for a permit to locate a mobile hoar: on Maine Avenue, West Glens Falls, New York from Mr. Chester Tucker. ..AlPublic Hearing will be arranged. Supervisor Webster announced the Public Hearing open on the application of Mr. Bernard Counter to locate a mobile home on Bennett Road. Proof of publication was presented by the clerk. Reading of the "Notice " was dispensed with at this time. f 480 The clerk stimmnarized an application of Mr. Bernard Counter. Supervisor Webster requested a voice of opinion from any persons in opposition or in favor of the granting of the permit. There were none. Supervisor Webster discussed the exact proposed location of the mobile home on the lot as planned by, Mr.. Counter. Public hearing was declared closed at 8:08 p.m. Following discussion, the-Town Board agreed that the permit would be granted. - Mr. LeRoy Phillips, Chief of Police visited the-meeting at this time. There were none,- Public Hearing closed by the Supervisor at 8:15 p.m, Following a request for a consensus of opinion of the members of: the Town Board; agreement was reached that' the permit would be granted. Supervisor Webster announced, the opening of the public hearing on the application .of Mrs. Alice Surprenant' fora perm3xt to locate a mobile home on Ltizerne. .Road, West._Glens Falls, New York. 4 Proof of Publication was presented by the clerk. June 24, 1966 TO THE HONORABLE TOWN BOARD TOWN OF- QUEENSBURY Re: Zoning and Planninx At a regular meeting of Mohican Grange #1800 held in their Hall on Friday, June 10th, 1966, a. ,discussion was held and unanimous vote carried to oppose the section of the proposed zoning law relating to two acre plots for home sites in the Town of Queensbury. 481 !, The following Resolution was adopted: WHEREAS the Town Board of Queensbury has duly appointed a Planning Board _and_one of their- duties has been to plan a zoning ordinance, and "' 'iaHRF.A.S, this Planning Board has been carrying out its duties by creating maps and holding Puhlic meetings for the information of the residents of the Town of Queensbury; At these meetings it has come to light,'that certain sections of the Town has been designated as R1 and all of this large area is -required- to or compelled to create building lots of not less than two acres, if such lots are to be sold or used for home site§. --The reason~given "That -it was to -hold back the building in this -area for some years to come." WHEREFORE be it resolved that Mohican Grange opposes any such regA tion as -.being unreasonable, discriminatory, and against the best interests of the town and -its citimens. We request the Planning Board to reconsider their plans and to put all of the town and its citizens on an equal basis. We also request the Town• Board to carefully--consider any planned zoning mA not adopt, the same until all of the citizens of the town are considered equal. June 30; 1966 Town Board Town of Queensbury Gentlemen: I feel it my duty to report the dangerous condition which exists on Sheraton Road, Rolling Ridge. On the north side of the road, opposite my home] are .three large maple trees located on the roadway. There are some quite large limbs which appear to be completely dead, and which might fall }on -the roadway at any time. As -you are -probably aware, there are some fifteen or toenC young children living at lolling -Ridge who walk and -ride bicycles oA over_tkik-�xoadway.
