NOTICE OF TRAFFIC COMMISSION ACTION The State Traffic Commission takes the following action with respect to traffic control • On Route 32, SH 656, at its intersection with Highland Avenue, a Town road, -and with River Street, SH 656, in the Town of Queensbury, Warren County: Revises specifications for Signal No. 1 to provide for-dual- indication. The order for this signal filed with the Secretary of State is identified as Section 2052.10, subdivision (f) , of the regulations of the State-Traffic Commission. An amendment for the above change is not required. To complete this action, the New York State Department of Public Works is' to operate and maintain this signal in conformance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices of the New York State Traffic Commission and the attached specifications. Gentlemen: I have been retained to make claim against you for damages sustained by my clients above named, by reason of an accident under circumstances which renders you liable for the resulting damages. The accident occurred on February 21, 1965, at about 2:30. P. M. , on Gurney Lane. Kindly communicate with the undersigned at once with a view of an amicable adjustment or inform me of the name of the Company insuring you so that I shall not be obliged to commence suit. Report of water consumption at the Public Water Supply, Queensbury Highway Department Garage, Aviation Road. Total Consumption to date. 30,710 Gallons. This water supply was put into operation the last of December and seems to be a useful and helpful operation. Any resident of the town who has run out of water is welcome to make use of this tap. None Water meters installed: Queensbury District None Other Districts Complaints received 3 Complaints answered 3 In the Queensbury District the following work-was completed: The water service to 327,329,333,335 Ridge Road was shut off Sunday, February 21, at 5PM. These homes are owned by Mr. W. Maurer and are all served by one common service line, A leak developed in one of these houses and was flooding Ridge Rd. This service was restored, Wednesday, February 24, after the owner disconnected the house causing the trouble, . Two leaks were repaired. One, a broken 6" CI main on Meadow Drive. The other was a defective Ludlow valve at-the intersection of -Rt. 9 & Aviation Rd. This valve was covered by the contract. The 3/4" water meter at Mooneys Restaurant, Lake George Rd. froze and broke, This was repaired and- the occupant billed, While repairing this several violations were noted and recommendations made. The Department is still working on the North Rd. , Garrison Rd. Area with favorable results. 468 One fire hydrant on the Ridge Road was found damaged due to improper operation and repair parts ordered. There are many hydrants in Queensbury and West water districts in need of repair. These will be attended to as soon as parts are available. With the help of county workers the area in Rush Pond was cleared of brush in ordered that the test machinery could be moved in. At this time I would like to recommend that the hourly wage of Scott Hopkins be raised from $1.60 to $1.70. Flaherty Supervisor Webster submitted the report of New Construction for the month of February, 1965. There were 5 reports filed during the month. Councilmen Beaty reported on his investigation to do with an offer by a service concern to check the voting machines in the Town of Queensbury. Mr. Beaty stated that the Custodians of the Voting Machines feel that there will not be any service necessary during 1965. A general discussion with all board members taking part, took place at this time on the subject of the proposed Comprehensive Study for Sources of Water Hupply in all neighboring localities. A general discussion ensued on the preparation to take place in- volving the up-coming special census. The rules of order as presented by the planning consultants were discussed by the Town Board in its entirety. Supervisor Webster explained the planned water billings to be presented in May 1965. The present discount being used in the West Glens Falls Water District was discussed at this time. QUEENSBURY WATER DISTRICTa Thomas K. RESOLUTION TO AMEND ABSTRACT RESOLUTION NO. 53, introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Lampson. WHEREAS, this Town Board on February 11, 1965, audited and approved claim #226 of Brockway Motors in the amount of $11.34 against the Highway Fund, under resolution #50, as listed in Abstract 65-2, totaling $21,496.46, and WHEREAS, it has now been determined that there was an error in this claim, it already having been audited as part of claim x'96 against the Highway Fund, therefore be it RESOLVED, that Audit #226 be and the .same is hereby voided in the amount of $11.34, and -that the total of Abstract 65-2 is hereby amended to- total $21,485.12. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr. Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Webster Noes - None . RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE DEPUTY RECEIVER OF TAXES & ASSESSMENTS RESOLUTION NO. 54 introduced by Mr. Turner, seconded by Mr. Robertson WHEREAS, Forrest J. Crannell has appointed Betty Eggleston as Deputy Receiver of Taxes & Assessments and has so notified this board, there- fore be it RESOLVED, that the Deputy Receiver of Taxes & Assessments appointed by the Receiver of Taxes •& Assessments shall have the power to perform all duties of the Receiver of Taxes & Assessments 'and such .further duties as the Town Board may determine, not inconsistent with Law. . Butz, and 470 WHEREAS, it has been determined that James A. Davidson, an attorney at law residing in :the Town of Queensbury, is qualified to be appointed to fill such vacancy, be it RESOLVED that, pursuant to subdivision 5 of Section 64 of the Town Law, James A. Davidson, ,residing at 16 Northrup Drive, be and he hereby is appointed a Justice of the Peace of Queensbury_ to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Andrew R. Butz who had been elected .to that office, to hold office until his successor is elected .at the general election to be held -on the 2nd day of November, 1965.
