3. JOB SITE CONSTRUCTION SAFETY IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. THESE DRAWINGS DO NOT
INCLUDE THE NECESSARY COMPONENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION SAFETY. BRACE BUILDING PROPERLY UNTIL ALL
STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS ARE INSTALLED. DO NOT BACK FILL AGAINST FOUNDATION WALLS BEFORE FLOOR
SYSTEM IS INSTALLED.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS IN THE FIELD AND REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE
ARCHITECT FOR RESOLUTION. DO NOT SCALE OFF OF THESE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL MATERIALS AND LABOR NECESSARY TO PROVIDE COMPLETE AND
OPERATING SYSTEMS. EXCEPT AS NOTED ON THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SECURE AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS NOT OBTAINED BY THE OWNER.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MATERIALS, PERFORM ALL WORK AND INSTALL MATERIALS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH RECOGNIZED, ACCEPTABLE STANDARD PRACTICE.
8. DRAWINGS DO NOT PURPORT TO SHOW ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS ON THE SITE. CONTRACTOR SHALL
CAREFULLY INSPECT THE ENTIRE AREA PRIOR TO STARTING WORK AND INCLUDE IN SCOPE OF WORK TO BE
PERFORMED ALL AFFECTS OF EXISTING CONDITIONS TO WORK.
9. DO NOT DISTURB OR INTERRUPT EXISTING UTILITIES SUCH AS SEWER, WATER, ELECTRIC OR OTHER
SERVICES ENCOUNTERED DURING EXCAVATION.
10. MINOR ITEMS OF WORK SUCH AS PATCHING, BLOCKING, TRIM, ETC. SHALL BE PERFORMED AS REQUIRED TO

11. "PROVIDE" SHALL MEAN: FURNISH AND INSTALL THE SPECIFIED ITEM(S), UNIT(S) OR SYSTEM(S).
12. CONTRACTOR SHALL ADVISE THE ARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY OF ANY INCONSISTENCIES BETWEEN DRAWINGS,
NOTES AND THE EXISTING CONDITIONS. SHOULD THE DRAWINGS OR NOTES DISAGREE IN THEMSELVES OR
WITH EACH OTHER, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE BETTER QUALITY OR GREATER QUANTITY OF

13. THE ARCHITECT SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO VISIT THE PROJECT SITE AT APPROPRIATE INTERVALS DURING
CONSTRUCTION TO BECOME GENERALLY FAMILIAR WITH THE PROGRESS AND QUALITY OF THE
CONTRACTORS' WORK AND TO DETERMINE IF THE WORK IS PROCEEDING IN GENERAL ACCORDANCE WITH
THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.
14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LEAVE THE SITE IN A NEAT, ORDERLY AND SAFE CONDITION AT THE END OF
EACH WORK DAY. THE SITE AND BUILDING SHALL BE MADE AS SECURE AS POSSIBLE SO AS TO PREVENT
UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY AND ACTIVITY. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN PROPER SIGNS,
BARRICADES, AND FENCES TO PROPERLY PROTECT THE WORK, EQUIPMENT, PERSONS AND PROPERTY.
15. SUBSTITUTIONS SHALL BE PERMITTED ONLY IF THE CONTRACTOR SUBMITS DATA TO THE ARCHITECT THAT
THE SUBSTITUTED PRODUCT IS EQUAL TO THE SPECIFIED PRODUCT OR MATERIAL AND THE ARCHITECT
ACCEPTS THE SUBSTITUTION.
16. REMOVE ALL DEBRIS FROM THE SITE AND DISPOSE OF IT LEGALLY AT AN APPROVED OFF SITE LOCATION.
17. PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION THE CONTRACTOR SHALL STAKE OUT ALL IMPROVEMENTS,
VERIFY GRADES AND REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES TO THE ARCHITECT FOR RESOLUTION.
18. BLEND WORK OF THIS CONTRACT SMOOTHLY INTO EXISTING CONDITIONS AT CONSTRUCTION LIMITS.
19. GRADE AREAS ADJACENT TO BUILDING LINES TO DRAIN AWAY FROM STRUCTURE AND TO PREVENT
PONDING.
20. DESIGN, SELECTION AND INSTALLATION OF ALL MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ARE THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IN CONJUNCTION WITH QUALIFIED MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL
SUBCONTRACTORS. THESE SYSTEMS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL AND
FIRE SYSTEMS. ALL WORK MUST COMPLY WITH THE CURRENT INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE OF NEW
YORK STATE.
21. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE ARCHITECT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS FOR
APPROVAL: ANY AND ALL PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE WORK AS DESCRIBED IN THE
DRAWINGS OR SPECIFICATIONS AND ANY ITEM SPECIFICALLY CALLED OUT FOR
SUBMISSION ON THE DRAWINGS OR IN THE NOTES.
22. THE CONTRACTOR MUST REFER TO FIRE RATED ASSEMBLIES AS SHOWN IN THESE
ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS AND THE CORRESPONDING REFERENCED UL RATED
ASSEMBLIES PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTING THE ASSEMBLIES. PENETRATIONS THROUGH
THESE ASSEMBLIES MUST COMPLY TO UL CRITERIA FOR PENETRATIONS, ie. SMOKE
DAMPERS, SAFING, CAULK, RATED COMPOUND, ETC.
23. ALL INDICATED DIMENSIONS ARE TO CENTERLINE OF STEEL, FACE OF FINISHED
SURFACE OF EXISTING PARTITIONS, FACE OF STUDS AT NEW PARTITIONS, FACE OF
