by the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury on the 25th day- of

lution and of the whole thereof.

RESOLUTION NO. 40 introduced by Mr. Lampson seconded by Mr. Turner.
WHEREAS, resolution #25v dated January 1, 1962 fixed the salary
of Curtis Lampson,. Councilman, at $1800.00 annually and
WHEREAS, Mr. Lampson has now requested that he be paid a salary
of $12000'00 for the year 1962,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the salary of Curtis Lampson,
Councilman, is hereby fixed at the sum of $1200.00, payable
at the rate of $100.00 per month for 12 months.
Duly adopted byrthe following vote:
Ayes - Mr. Beaty, Mr, Turner, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Akins and Cdr. Webster.
Noes - None

Mr. Ralph Nestle was welcomed as a visitor.
The following were ._greatdd by the board in the interest of
business:

Bernard Codner Highway Superintendent
Robert Nolan District Attorney
Upon granting the floor to District Attorney Nolan, he presented
a mhp of the Pineview Cemetery with the portion marked off vUch
has previously been declared not a usable section of the Cemetery.
Mr. Nolan is representing interested parties in the purchase or
lease of said land. The board assured Mr. Nolan that following
the approval of the Pineview Cemetery Association they would
take action at an early date.

Mr. Phillipa was heard in the matter of clarification of the
ordinance as to the operation of junk yards.. Several members of
of the board have also received complaints of the burning of
automobiles at West Side junk yard. Mr. Leibowitz, the owner
contends that the junk yard was established Before the present
ordinance was enacted. The board feels that the junk yards
which have been established for, some time cannot be forced to,
comply with the present day ordinance. `
The board decided that there should be a request for a decision
from Mr. Beswick the County Attorney on the strength of the
junk yard ordinance so enacted.
The Chief of Police has had complaints of dumping along town
highways. The ordinance to do with this matter was studied by
the board. Several individuals have been contacted and the
matter is expected to be eliminated following cooperation of the
public.
Mr. Liapes , reports on a water leak near the Glens Falls National
Bank on Upper Glen Street. With the possibility that some of the
road surface of the parking lot may have to be removed,, the
superintendent questions as to who will be responsible for re
placing same. The wishes of the' board is to check for the leak
but not to remove the road surface.
Mr. Liapes, suggests the purchase of two mud hens` and one
centrifical pump to be used by all water districts. The board
suggests that Mr. Codner and Mr. Liapes investigate the' priee and
availability of the above mentioned equipment. The possibility of
locating good quality used equipment is suggested by the board.
M-r. Codner reports on the progress of the repairs of a water leak
on the Ridge Road. Repairs will be done by the crews of the City
of Glens Falls. Service will be. restored on Friday, February
9, 1962.

Rual Numbering System, being proposed by the Niagara Mohawk Power
Corporation„ when and if legally possible.

The clerk submitted a copy of an option dated May 21, 1935
between the Jabez Ingalsbee family and the City of Glens Falls
to d4 with the fire hydrant on the Dixon Road which was removed
during; toe construction of the Glens Falls By-Pass.
i The above
mentioned option if on file in the clerks office until such
time that Mr. Beswick decides that the option is grdunds for
forceing the City of Glens Falls to replace said hydrant.

The Clerk reported' that one of the recently purchased office
chairs and two wooden folding chairs are at Possessor, Nassiveras
office.
A report was submitted by Mr. Akins, Chairman of the Water District
Commitee,, to do with water service for Queensbury Motors on the
Quaker Road. A general discussion to do with supplying water
in this section was had with all members of the board. Several
suggestions were made. Action will bake place at a later date.
Mr. John VanDusen, Town Surveyor,; entered the meeting at this
time.. A map was submitted to the board to do with the Dixon Road.
Parkview Avenue section. A study of assessments in this section,
was made .in order to analyze the individual cost of the proposed 3
water district. Action on this matter was deferred. to a later date. _

Mr. Webster, reports on Equalization Rates. Discussion will be
made at a later date as to whether members of the board will attend
a meeting on Equalization and Assessments which will be held in
Albany in the near future..
Mr. Codner, reports that work at the Rush Pond Water Shed is not
progressing as rapidly as expected. He also reports that the
sewer system in Reservoir Park, has been plugged.. He has repaired
same for the present. Possible need of a larger overflow is
explored for construction at a later date.
The Schedule of Audits for the Town of Queensbury, Warren County„
New York,. for the month of February 1962 was examined and approved
by the board.
