Mr. Richard Slocum, of the New York State. Department of Commerce was
welcomed at the meeting at this time.
In the general discussion that followed the suggestions for work
for the Planning Board were as follows:
Develop plans for all future dmprovements.
Layout sections of the Town by Classification.
Study of Town Highways for best advantage of all visible needs.
Plan for. a future zoning ordinance.
Review all subdivisions.
Mr. Slocum explained at length that the final acceptance of all
suggestions was up to the decission of the `Town Board. Great —
stress was laid on a study of the most important problems in the
Town at present, as they would become a valuable asset for the
future prggress of the Town of Queensbury. A study of a land use
map of the torn could be used to plot the sections for all types
of use. A suggestion that Aerial Maps with sharp definition
would be of -great` advantage to the Planning Board.
The Planning Board were advised to appoint a chairman -Vice-
Chairman- and secretary to handle the details of their group.
The suggestion of working in a complete group on all matters was
advised to the board.
In summation, Mr. Slocum stated that balancing the growth of the
town will be the first aim at the present.

The clerk presented the following change in Election Inspectors
for the Town of Queensbury.
RESOLUTION NO. 11667 introduced by Mr. Turner,, seconded by Mr. Lampson
I, WHEREAS,, Mr. D. Frank Sullivan, Chairman of the Democratic `
Committee did appoint Selma Pierce as Election Inspector for
j District #5 of the Town of Queensbury, and
WHEREAS„ Selma Pierce will not be able to serve;.
Therebore be it RESOLVED, that Christine Bergeron of 2 Foster Avenue,
be appointed as Election Inspector for District #5 of the Town
of Queensbury.
Duly adopted by the following vote

Mr. Codner, was granted the floor at this time. A general dis-
cussion ensued on the laying of the water extension on Quaker Road
to County. Club Road.
The Superintendent of Highways presented an estimate of drainage
pipe on -Bullard Avenue. If the extension is made same wiLl be
charged to the Broadacres Drainage District.
The purchase of salt for the coming winter was discussed at Length
by all members of -the Town Board. The County contract was studied
with the result that it is the feeling of the board that salt can
be purchased from a direct bidder at a lesser price.
RESOLUTION NO, 168 introduced by Mr. Akins and seconded by Mr. Lampson
RESOLVED, that the following notiee be published once in the Glens
Falls Times on or before the 29th day of October, 1962.
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Bernard J. Codner, Superintendent of Highways, of the Town of
Queensbury, State of New York, Warren County, is asking for bids
for approximately ninety tons (90 tons) more or less of grade CC
Salt in 100 lbs. bags.
Quality to meet New York State Division of Standards and Purchase
requirements.
Bids must include delivered price at Town Garage and also delivered
at the Railroad yard at Glens Falls, New York.
Bids will be received until 7:00 P.M. at the Town Clerks office,
95 Dixdh Road, Glens Falls, New York or the Highway Superintendents
office on Aviation Road, Glens Falls, New York, and will be publicly
opened by the Town Board at 7:30 P.M. at the Library of Union Free
School #2 on the Aviation Road, on November 8th, 1962.
The Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.

W. Eugene Faircloth, was present at the meeting with a request
for water service for a new home, that he intends to construct on
the Aviation Road at the corner of Mountainview Lane. A 3•' water
supply tap was requested by the applicant.
RESOLUTION NO. 169 introduced by Mr. Akins„ seconded by Mr. Lampson
RESOLVED„ that permission is hereby granted to Eugene Faircloth of
20 Fifth Street, Glens "Falls, New York, to make application to the
City of Glens Falls for water service to a lot on Aviation Road at
the corner of Mountainview Lane, thereby becoming a water sustomer
of the City of Glens Falls and that a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the City Water Board and to Mr. Eugene Faircloth.

RESOLUTION NO. 170 introduced by Mr. Akins, seconded by Mr. Turner.
WHEREAS, Hazel Reynolds Ryan and Ethel Ryan Buckmaster have expeutedd
and delivered to the Supervisor a deed which conveys to the Town of
Queensbury the so-called Ryan Cemetery in West Glens Falls, be it
RESOLVED, that said deed be accepted and recorded in the office of
the Warren County Clerk, and be it further

RESOLVED that said cemetery lands so "coveyed to the Town of Queensbury
be placed under the management and control of ttie Cemetery Commission.

The board held a general discussion on running a water main extension
to serve a piece of property on Country Club Road. It was agreed to
continue a water main onto the property of Mr. Dan DeLong at a, cost
to the customer ,o;f $350.00.
Mr. Webster reported on the present status of the purchase agreement
with the Cale Development Company to do with the sale `of the Pine
view Cemetery frontage on Route 9. Action on the signing of same
will be consumated .at an early date.
The Supervisor explained the present equalization rate being imposed o
on the Town of Queensbury. The rate of 39 is a reflection in general
on the fact that the assessments within the town are not keeping up
with the 4076 figure of ,present market value.

Pest Control for exterminating rats at the town dump has expired:

Mr. Joseph Kestner the engineer on water and sewage plans was
greeted at the meeting at this time. e

Mro Kestner presented the map of the Master Water Supply plans.
Following extensive study by all board members the necessary
corrections were made to enable the engineer to submit the request
of the Town of Queensbury for federal aid in the construction of a
master water supply systems. The 'following resolution was accepted
" and copfes will be preparid to be forwarded to 'the `proper agency.
