Mr. Milton Crandall and 14r. Arthur Norton, the architects on the
proposed new Town Hall were greeted at 8:20 p. m.
Mr. Oberst and his assistant representing "Abilene Pest Control",
were present to discuss the treatment of the town dump on hopes
of eliminatin% the rats at this location. In the past year the
represqutat ves of the pest control have visited the dump on a
monthly basis with .the type of extermination that they consider
to be effective. A receipt has been signed by the caretaker of
the dump on each of these visits and he in turn has stated that
he is satisfied with the results to date. The control which is
expected by the pest control company is to Stop the Action of the
rats. It is not expected that .all rats will be exterminated.
The board generally agreed that the contract for this treatment
should be renewed for one year beginning December 1st, 1962.
Mr. Crandall, was granted the floor at this time to discuss the
tentative plans for the proposed new Town Hall.
Mr. Akin, presented a prepared planning survey for study by the
board in conjunction with the Architect.
Following lengthy study the board in general agreed to the fact that a
completion date for this construction should be September 1st, 1963.

Mr, Webster discussed the contract for the storage of the tractor
for the town dump with Mr, Mdward Cole. The board in general agreed
that the present rental- on this contract is sufficient as `warranted
at this time.
The original contract with the caretaker of the dump `Mr. Eugene
Johnson was discussed with all members of the board, Copies of the
original agreement of July 25, 1950 were presented to each board
member for study. A dieia eitonon future handling of this matter
will be discussed at a later date.

the County Attorney and the Town Board of gueensbury. Final closing
on this transaction will take place on December 20, 1962.

Enclosed is the copy of my reply to a letter from Mr.
Harold H. Frair of G1ens .Falls, who, has called my attention to
a discrepancy in timing of the .amber :Light .'of the. traffic light
which you recently ordered erected at_the intersection of Bay
and Quaker Roads to replace the flashing aced light which the
County had placed at this intersection.
I recommend that you have the mutter investigated and
probably adjuct the timing of the amber light. I feel this
should be done immediately before the occurrence of hazardous
road conditions.

Dear Harold:
Your letter of November 19th, regarding the traffic .light
at the intersection of Bay and Quaker Roads, is gratefully
acknowledged.
At the outset, I wish to call your attention to the fact
that this green light was erected about a month ago by order of the
Town Board which has sole jurisdiction of a "stop" and "goy' light
on county roads; since the Taw.- was amended about a year ago and the
only light that can be erected by the County is a flashing red :light.
You will recall that there was such a light at this intersection
prior to the present one.
I appreciate your concern in .this matter, and was a bit
surprised to learn that the amber light period of the light in
question. on Bay Road is only about one half the time of that on
Quaker Road. I will recommend to the Town Board that the light be
checked and corrected to .correspond with other traffic lights.
In my opinion this is a very important matter, especially with the
approaching winter months and hazardous driving conditions.
