in certificates of Deposits of the Glens Falls National Bank and Trust
Company for six months at the rate of 3% per annum, and the sum of
$4Os 000 from the Highway Fund and $9,000 from the Queensbury Fire
Protection District Funds in Certificates of Deposits for three months
at the rate of one percent per annum, of the Glens Falls National Bank
and Trust Company, and be it further
RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and
directed to draw checks on the funds now on deposit in the Glens Falls
National Bank and Trust Company in the several accounts of the Town of
Queensbury for investment in such certificates of deposit authorized
by this resolution but not exceeding in the aggregate the -amount hereby
authorized, but further provided that such certificate of deposit be
secured as provided by Section 11 of the General Municipal Law.

The Town Clerk reported that the agreement entered between the Town Board
and the Town Superintendent of Highways relating to the expenditure of
moneys for Item 1 of the Highway Fund had been returned by the County
Superintendent of Highways approved by him.
Further discussion was had in reference to the laying of water pipe under
the East and West By-Pass of the City of Glens Falls along Ridge Road
and enlarging pipe in the present water system of the Ridge Road Water
-District. The matter was referred to the Supervisor.
The matter of the salary of the Health Officer was discussed. The Super-
visor read a letter from Dr. Selinger in reference to- salary of. the
Health Officer for January -and -February. - T--he- Supervisor retained the
letter.The Board generally discussed the- ordinance- regulating the housing develop-
ments in the Town of Queensbury. - -

George Liapes, Superintendent of the North Glens Falls Water District,
was present and submitted the following report:
April 8, 1960
Report to Board, Town of Queensbury
Montray Road, W. G. F. Water District
First home I went to was Mr. Cassidyts. He has no water problems and
thanked me for stopping and asking.
Mrs. Brauer was home and told me her water service came from Wincrest
Drive and not from Montray Road. Her next door neighbor (Lombardi) has
the same service. The Builder put the water line from Wincrest because
it was closer I believe. Mrs. Brauer did not want to complain because
she fears her taxes may be raised.
Mrs. Don Weeks, who is out of the Water District the same as Lombardi,
Brauer, Kouba and Russell, has no water problems and told me that her
water service came in from the road.
I went up Wincrest Drive to Mrs. Lavine and she told ine that she was
happy about the pump working all the time as she can get up very early
and do her wash that she could not do previously until the pump started.
Her water pressure drops in the summer when she uses her front and rear
garden hose simultaneously.
Attention Mr. Aikens:
I visited V. W. Weeks and find the Garage pays for one W. C. 4.50, one
garage 8.00--12.50 207. - $15.00.
His home 1 family use 4.50 1 tub 4.50 1 W.C. 4.50
1 hose 8.00 3 livestock 0 3.00 each 9.00 total 30.50
plus 20% equals 36.60.
He rents one house to Mr. Stockwell and he pays for water 1 family use
4.50 1 W.C. 4.50 1 tub 4.50 comes to 13.50 plus 2076 equals 16.20 total.
Mr. Kouba has spent 1400.00 dollars for his well and would take water
from the district if they put a line in.

Mr. Brennan also would take water -if it was put in as it would solve

tap at 36 Garrison Road. A further discussion was had respecting taps
for consumers on Carleton Drive.
The Board also discussed the water -pressure existant at the top of
Miller Hill. A further discussion was had- respecting the matter of the
drainage of the area on Grant Avenue Extensioiz. - The matter was dis-
cussed with Mr. Van Dusen.
The Board further discussed the relocation of the Rockhurst Road and
the matter was referred to the Supervisor.

I did wish to express to the members of the Town Board, my appre-
ciation of the insurance business my office was favored with.
Upon first taking over the line, we reviewed each policy and made
suggestions that provided better rounded coverage at at lower cost.
Someone from our office always went over the highway equipment with
the Highway Superintendent to check values and for addition or elimi-
nation of any items. Heretofore a representative of the Glens Falls
Insurance Company had been doing it. All claims were promptly reported
to the Company. It was my feeling if the Town Board gave us the
confidence of placing the business through our agency, it deserved our
attention and cooperation.
Again, let me say thank you and if we can be of further service
in the future, we will be delighted to serve you.

Dear Madam:
The operation of Signal #1, which is located at the intersection
of Route 32 & 32B from the west and Route 32B from the east; Route 32
from the northeast and a Town Highway from the north, in the Town of
Queensbury, Warren County, has been reviewed.
It has been found desirable to display the vertical green arrow,
which is located on the west face of the signal permitting eastbound
motorists on Route 32 & 32B to continue to the east onto Route 32B
during the yellow clearance interval on that face. This indication
will eliminate confusion to motorists who are not familiar- with the
signal and should be continuing straight through the intersection onto
Route 32B during the yellow and red indications.
The Commission has , therefore, issued an order covering this
change in operation and the Department of Public Works will make the
change as soon as. possible. A copy of the order is enclosed for your
records.

TRAFFIC COMMISSION ORDER
Pursuant to authority conferred by the New. York State Vehicle and
Traffic Law, the State Traffic Commission hereby directs:
1. The New York State Department of Public Works to operate and
maintain Signal #1 which is located at the intersection of
Route 32 & 32B from the west and Route 32B from the east,
S.H. 656; Route 32 from the northeast, S.H. 656, and a Town
Highway from the north, in the Town of Queensbury, Warren
County.
2. That Signal #1 shall consist of one 2-face head and tare
Single-face heads. The 2-face shall control traffic from
the northeast on Route 32 and from the east on Route 32B.
One single-face head shall control traffic from the west
on Route 32 & 32B and one single-face -head shall control
traffic from the north on the Town Highway.
.3. That Signal .#1 shall operate on a-semi traffic-actuated
signal with directional detectors located east of the inter-
. section on Route 32B and north of the intersection on the
Town Highway and with the following three phases:

Dear Mr. Webster:
We have been meaning to contact the Town of Queensbury Super-
visor for some time. I believe it is essential for an amber inter-
section light to be installed on 9-L where Top OtThe World and Lock-
hart Hill Road meet. The traffic on that turn during summer is getting
heavier each year. The turn up to Top OtT#e World is on the curve, and
is a blind turn to all traffic except those familiar with the east
side of Lake George. People coming down from TopO'The World, have
considerable difficulty getting onto the State Highway, and this traf-
fic is increasing yearly. This is a particularly dangerous spot, and
I am surprised we have not had any fatalities because I have seen, and
experienced myself, some very near misses.
