Dear John: y As you are well aware the County plans to "erect 'a °new office building at Gurney Lane, Town'of Queensbury. Present ^plans _call for occupancy approximately January, 1963. The chairman of the board has requested me to°write °you°regarding the water supply. They would like to know what "stIpP1y is available from the Town of Queensbury and whether or not'the"town is `interested or able to serve the needs of the new county'building. - Would you at your earliest convenience discuss this with your Town Board and in turn advise me when you would like to meet with the committee to go into the finer details of the proposal. A map of the development was received and filed. Mr. Miller orally reported in connection with the Kestner matter, and it was decided that the Board as a committee of the whole would meet with Mr. Kestner at the Queensbury School. The Board further discussed the possibility of obtaining Federal aid or assistance in connection with the Town water supply. Y. Queensbury Town Board Town Clerk's Office Glens Falls , N. Y. To .Members of Board: I respectfully ask that you t4ke under consideration immediate removal of existir}g signs on Glen Lake Road at intersection of Route 9 on the grounds that they are fast becoming a traffic hazard and unsightly and will become worse as the County clears its property eastward and I believe they are illegally placed in the limits of the town highway. I understand the State Highway Department has taken steps to correct this situation within the limits of their road and respectfully ask that you do the same. The Board discussed the Mooney matter with the Town Superintendent, The Board also discussed the 1kockhurst Road. Tn connection with the operation of the Shore Colony Water District, Mr. Codner reported that the water system was in operation and that Mr. Wikki= Schoonover would act as superintendent and collector. Neil At this point in the meeting Mr. Akins entered and took part in the proceedings. _ Resolution No. 72 introduced by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Bentley: RESOLVED that Neil Schoonover be and is hereby appointed Superin- tendent and Collector of the Shore Colony Water District for a period of five months at a salary of $200 payable at the rate of $40 per month for services in supervision and inspection of the District and collector of water rents and for activating and shutting the water supply off at the end of the season, and that the further sum of $10 be paid for each individual tap which is required to be made during the year 1960. The matter was referred to the Supervisor for consultation with the County Attorney. A discussion was had respecting the number of dump licenses which have been issued for the year 1960. A discussion was had respecting the tax equalization rates for the Town. It was reported that Gene Johnson,- caretaker at the Town Dump, was ill in the hospital. Mr. Codner stated to the Board that the tractor used at the Town Dump was in need of repair. — A discussion was had respecting the necessity of additional voting . machines for the coming election.
