RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to cause to be published on the 11th day of July a notice in substantially the following form: NOTICE Notice is .hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section, 1847 of the Town Lax that the Town Board will hold a public ..#earing on the 21st day. of July,, 1959, . at. 7,:30, p.m. D.S.T. at the Town Clerk's Office, Ridge Road, in said Town, upon five-proposed contracts to furnish fire protection in the Queensbury, Fire Protection. District; That such proposed contracts are to be made with. the 'hest Glens Falls Fire Company Ho, 1, Inc.,, the Queensbury Central Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., the South Queensbury Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., -the North Queensbury Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. , -and the Bay-Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.,, and will pe•all of like nature and terms with -the exception. of a specific area. That the general terms of the proposed contracts are that each of the. aforesaid companies shall provide fire protection in a specific area of and all of the Town of. Queensbury,, with suitable and ample fire fighting equipment, and that the duration of each of the con- tracts shall be for a. period of five years at an annual, rate of $3,800 per year payable in two installments in each year as will be provided in the proposed contracts.. The Supervisor called the meeting to order and requested that the notice of hearing, stating the purpose thereof,, be read to the Board. The notice was read. 174 Proof of the publication of the notice of hearing was filed. No one appeared either for or against the proposed entering into con- tracts to furnish fire protection in the Queensbury Fire Protection District. Resolution No. 89 introduced: by Justice Akins , seconded by. Councilman Miller:: WHEREAS a Public Hearing has been held on the 21st day of July, 1959: upon the proposed contracts with five fire companies (the West Glens Falls Fire Co.. No.. l,, Inc. ,, Queensbury Central Volunteer Fire -- Co. , Inc.,, Bay-Ridge Volunteer Fire Co., Inc. , North Queensbury-Volun- teer Fire Co. , Inc. , and the South Queensbury Volunteer Fire Co.) , to furnish fire .protection in Fire Protection District in -the Town of Queensbury, and - . WHEREAS no one appeared opposing or objecting, to the Town enter ing into such contract, and it is in the public interest that the Town enter into said contracts, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board enter, sign, and execute the said contracts-with the said . Harold Lebowitz was present and discussed with the Board his applica. tion for a junkyard license. He stated in substance that he had sent in a letter about 7 months ago requesting a license. He also said he sent in the required fee. He asked what actions, if. any, was taken on his application:. Thereupon, there was some discussion had respect. ing compliance with the junk yard license. Mr. Akins reiterated his position in opposing the granting of the license.
