1947-02-22 47 Regular meeting February 22nd,1947 Present: H Russell Harris Supervisor Henry Sleight Justice of the Peace Meredith S Bentley Justice of the Peace Curtis Lampson Councilman Raymond Walkup Councilman The board convened at 7 :30 p.m. Minutes of Meeting held on January 25th read and a)Dproved. Mr Hoag of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars presented a petition requesting permission to hold a carnival on the boulevard for the! benef it ,of the Adirondack post No- 2475 and after discussing with the members the board the matter, Mr Haag withdrew with the consent of the Board the petition. In the Matter of the Petition of Arth-dr. :-.Patriek Cronin for consent of this Board to operate a. motor bus line over certain streets in the Town of Queensbury which was adjourned to this time and place the proof of publication of the notice of the public hearing was filed. WHEREAS., Arthur Patrick Cronin has filed a verified petition for the application for the consent of the Town Board of the Town of. Queensbury to operate an omnibus line for the trans- portation of persons and property on, over and along certain street&, avenues and thuroughf area in the Town of Queensbury, Warren .County, New York, as part of an omnibus route between the City of Glens Falls , New York and the Village of Granville, New York, and the routes proposed to be followed in the Town of Queensbury are as follows: Leaving the City of Glens Falls at the City line• a-nd at the end of Warren Street where it inter- . sects with the street commonly known as the boulevard; thence easterly along the boulevard to the intersection known as "Montys Bridge" ; thence due easterly and over the"Imperial Bridge" andpast the Imperial Color works to the Village line of Hudson Falls, New York, and returning over the same streets and highways in the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York, and WHEREAS . public notice has been duly published of a hearing before this board at thit time andplace, and WHEREAS, said public hearing was duly held by said town Board of the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York, on the 25th day of i�ahnar-y 1947, at 7:30 o ' clock P.M. , at which meeting all persons so desiring were heard. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York, does hereby grant its consent, permission and authority to the said Arthur Patrick Cronin to operate his omAi.bus line over the routes specified in the preamble on this resolution, and it is further that this consent is granted upon the following terms and conditions , viz: 1. That the said Arthur Patrick Cronin in operating his said omnibus line, shall not pick up, take or carry passengers within the city limits of Glens Falls or the Town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York, for local fares , nor shall he pick up passengers from Glens Falls to points in the Town of Queensbury or Hudson Falls , New York, or from any point in 48 Hudson Falls , New York, or the Town of Queensbury to any point in Glens Falls or intermediate points , and this regillation shall likewise apply to freight and perspnal property. 2. That he shall at all timef-, comply with the Jamf rules and regulations of the New York State Public Service Commission. 3. This franchise and consent shall be limited to ten years from date hereof. Duly a doped by the following vote ; Ayes; Mr. W4.1kup, Mr. Bently, Mr. Lampson, Mr. Sleight, and Mr. Harris.
