Mr. Akins spoke briefly explaining the purposes and necessity for the formation of a volunteer Fire Company. After dis - cussion, the matter was deferred until Jan. 31 so that in the mean time,. the Town Board could ascertain from the County Attorney, the rights , liabilities and responsibility of the Town of Queensbury, In the event the members of the Town Board approved the formation of the volunteer Fire Company. Ernest, Hillis and Edwin Bell were present and the Board discussed with them the appointment of a chairman to the Board of Assessors. Mr. Bel *sta.ted that he felt that Mr. Hillis in view of his long experience, in reference to assessments should be appointed. CONSTRUCTION OF A WATER SYSTEM IN THE EXT"•- ENSION OF THE NORTH GLENS FALLS WATER DISTRICT OF SAID TOWN. t BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, War re, County, New York, as follows: =seat1Q l• For the purpose of paying the cost of the con - struction of a water system in the Extension of the North Glens Falls mater District of said Town, in accordance with 'the reso - lution heretofore adopted by the Town Board of said Town on September 4, 1947, and in accordance with a special public hearing 0 1 legally called, held and conducted on September 19, 1947, there j are hereby authorized to be issued $95,000 serial bonds of said Town. Section 2. The estimated maximum cost of the aforesaid object or purpose is $95,000. The plan for the •financing of such object or purpose consists of the issuance of serial bonds of said Town in the principal amount of $959000, and in anticipation cif the issuance of said bonds the temporary financing of said ob ect or purpose by the issuance of a bond anticipation note. Such bonds are to be general obligations of said Town and said Town shall j raise annually by tax a sum sufficient to pay the principal bf and interest on such bonds as the same shall become due and pay- able; such tax shall •be assessed, levied and collected fromi the several lots and parcels of land within said Extension in the same manner and at the same time as the annual tax for other town charges. If the total of annual collections of such taxes shall be less than the amount required for such purposes, the .Town Board shall direct that surplus monies not otherwise app- ropriated be applied. •S t o ,Z. It is hereby determined that the period of prob- able usefulness of the aforesaid object or purpose pursuant to subdivision 1, paragraph a, of Section 11.00, Local Finance Law, is forty years. Sec.tion. 4. It is further determined that the proposed matur- ity of the obligations authorized hereby 'will 'be in excess of five years. Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately. Sa,id 'hote shall be payable from the' proceeds derived from the sale of said bonds or otherwise redeemed, in the. manner provided by Section 23.00, Local Finance Law. The faith and credit of said Town are hereby irrevocably pledged for the payment of said note and interest thereon. Section 5. There are no Bond Anticipation Notes outstanding which have been previously issued in anticipation of the sale of said bonds.. Neither is the note hereby authorized a renewal note. The period of maturity of such note is herein above set forth. Such note is issued in anticipation of bonds for an assessable improvement. 6. The Supervisor of the Town of Queensbury is, hereb ` authorized to' sell said note at private sale at not less 4 than par and accrued interest ; and, when said note shall have been duly executed and sold, the same shall be delivered to the pur - ! chaser upon payment of the purchase price to the Supervisor and " the receipt of the Supervisor shall be a full acquittance to said purchaser who steal-1 not be obliged to see to. the application of the purchase money. f Section- 7.
