The'Mountainside' Grange made application in writ ling to the Town Board to care for and conserve the Scotch and Jenkins emeteries in the Town of Queensbury. ,a„E,�blution #28, ' Introduced by Justice Sleight, seconded by Justice Bent ey: WHEREAS, by`Chapter'814 of the Laws of 1948, the Town Board of the Town of Queensbury was authorized and empowered to appoint three persons to .constitute . the Board of Cemetery Commissioners of the Town of Queensbury for the purposes therein specified RESOLVED that, Sidney VanDusen be �,nd he .hereby is appointed a ° member of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners of .the Town of Queens - bury for a term which shall expire on the 30th day of June, 1949, and further RESOLVED that , Frank L. Cowles , Jr. , be and he hereby is appointed a member of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners of the Town of Queens- bury for a term which shall expire on tne '30th,day of June, `1950, and .further RESOLVED that Joseph F. Regan be and he hereby is appointed a member of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners of the Town...of .Queensbury for a term which shall expire on the 30th day of June, .19.51., and further, RESOLVED that before entering their duties as ` such Cemetery Commiss- ioners , the said members hereby appointed shall take and subscribe the constitutional oath of office, and after 'having so qualified, the said Cemetery Commissioners shall have all of the powers and duties pre - scribed by said Chapter 814 and as otherwise provided by law and shall also have the power to make and adopt any and all rules. and regulations which they shall deem necessary and advisable to carry out their said duties and powers and to elect one .of their members as Chairman, one of their members as Treasurer and one of .their members as Secretary, and 5 I to prescribe the powers and duties of such officers on behalf of j the Board of Cemetery Commissioners , and such Treasurer shall before entering upon his duties , execute and file his bond in an amount to be fixed by said Board of Cemetery Commissioners , and it is further RESOLVED that the sum of $500 be and the same hereby is appropriated { for the use of said Board of Cemetery Commissioners as provided by said Chapter and that said sum be transferred and paid over from the contingent fund. And it is further { 1 RESOLVED that certified claims against said sum .shall be presented to the Town Board for audit and said moneys shall be paid out after such audit pursuant to Town law. Duly adopted by the following vote: Ayes - Mr. Walkup, Mr. Bentley, Mr. La.mpson, Mr. Sleight and Mr. Harris. Noes - None . The Clerk presented a verified claim by James 0. Shepard for damages caused to his automobile in the amount of p19 by one of the town trucks, to the Town Board.
