A LOCAL LAW ESTABLISHING WATER DISTRICT CONNECTION REGULATIONS
SECTION 1 : Legislative Intent:
It is the purpose of this section to re _:_.ire the connection
of residential maDor subdivisions and mult,_ :_le family dwelling
units within 2 , 000 feet of an existing water district in order to
permit the planned and orderly extension of municipal water and to
provide for economical and efficient municipal water distribution
- to the residents of the Town of Queensbury.
SECTION 2 : Authority:
This Local Law is enacted pursuant tc the provisions of
Section 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York.
SECTION 3 : Local Law Superseded:
This Local Law shai. = supersede and amend Local Law No . : 4,
1986 , entitled , ''A Local Law Establishing Water District Connection
Regulations . ''

SECTION 4: Definitions :
The term 'subdivider'' shall have the same meani-q set forth
in Section 2 . 24 c= the Town of Queensbury Subdivision kegulaticns .
The term "ma3or subdivision" shall mean or refer to any st:bdivisi on
presented for approval by the i,):an of Queensb>ry Planning board

SECTION 5 : Requirements_
The subdivider o} a resident-1-al maio-- subdivision or
or m,._:ltiple family dwel + q units situated within 2 , 000 feet of an
existing water distri -. shali. be required to connect to the water
district as a condition precedent to subdivision or site -plan
approval by the 'T:,wr, Planning Board .
SECTION b : Regulations :
a . All water supply materials proposea for connection with
t'r:e existinq water district shall comply with the current
standards and specifications c= the American Water Wor _s
Association.
b . Plans and specifications for water suppiy facilities
shall be prepared by a licensed pr_,-essional engineer,
bear his seal , and be submitted to the New York State
Department of Health ai7d the Queensbury Planning Board
for review and approval .
C . Ail work performed in the connections to the Torn of
Queensbury municipal water district shall be inspected
by the Queensbury Water Superintendent or his designated
representative , and written approval shall be provided
to the subdivider .
SECTION 7 : Costs :
The cost of connecting to the existing water district shall
be borne by the developer .
SECTION 8 : Penalties :
Any person ;onvlcted or a violation of this Local Law shall
be deemed to have committed a i clation and shall be subject ro a
fine not exceeding $250 . 00 or imprisonment for a period not
exceeding 15 days .
Failure to compiv with this section shall constitute grounds
for denial of subdivis.,.D,11 of site plan approval by the Town
Planning Board .
SECTION 9:
This Local Law shaii take effect immedia_ely .
