Section 1. Purpose and Authority
The Town Board wishes to require a countersignature on all Town checks signed by the
Town Supervisor and to facilitate obtaining both-signatures in an efficient and timely manner.
Therefore, the Queensbury Town Code is hereby amended by adding a new Chapter entitled
"Designation of Required Countersignature on Town Checks." This Local Law is adopted in
accordance with Municipal Home Rule Law §10.
Section 2. Required Countersignature
All Town checks signed by the Town Supervisor shall be countersigned by any other
member of the Town Board.
Section 3. Repealer
All Local Laws or Ordinances or parts of Local Laws or Ordinances in conflict with any
part of this Local Law are hereby repealed

Section 4. Severability
If any part of this Local Law shall be declared invalid by a Court of competent
jurisdiction, such declaration shall not affect or impair in any way any other provision and all
other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. Effective Date
This Local Law shall take effect upon filing in the office of the New York Secretary of
State as provided in §27 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
