RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INCLUSION OF INFORMATIONAL
NOTICES IN TOWN WATER TAX COLLECTION BILLS

WHEREAS, New York State Real Property Tax Law §1826 provides that Town Boards may
adopt by unanimous vote a Resolution authorizing a Town’s collecting officer to include notices
relating to sewer, water rates and rents, permit and other fees and charges payable to the town in
mailed tax bills, and
WHEREAS, the Water Superintendent/Wastewater Director has advised that there are times
when it best serves the Department’s and public’s best interests to include certain informational notices
in the Town’s water tax bills relating to such worthwhile matters as the upgrading of water meters,
hydrant flushing and the availability of the Town’s annual drinking water quality reports, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board concurs with such recommendation and wishes to authorize the
inclusion of such informational notices to help apprise the public concerning important Town issues,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that in accordance with New York State Real Property Tax Law §1826, the
Queensbury Town Board hereby unanimously authorizes the inclusion of certain public informational
notices relating to sewer, water rates and rents, permit and other fees and charges payable to the Town
in mailed tax bills, more specifically, informational notices in the Town’s mailed water tax bills relating
to such worthwhile matters as the upgrading of water meters, hydrant flushing, and the availability of
annual drinking water quality reports, and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board further authorizes and directs the Town Receiver of Taxes
and Assessments and Town Water Superintendent/Wastewater Director to take all other actions
needed to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
