1992-01-23 SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING JANUARY 23, 1992 7:00 p.m. MTG. #8 TOWN BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT Supervisor Michel Brandt Councilman Betty Monahan Councilman Susan Goetz Councilman Pliney Tucker TOWN BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT Councilman Nick Caimano WORKSHOP SESSION Discussion held by Town Board regarding restructuring of sewer billing... (tape on file) Supervisor Brandt-noted he could live and vote for the December 30th as it is and get on with it provided that we then spend some time and effort and money to try and come to a benefit district that keeps higher costs on commercial then what we are showing here and lowers the residential somewhat, I do not want to see us lower commercial and raise residential as much as what benefit two seems to dO...also we have to clearly tell people who own considerable piece of land in the district that in time you have to find another place for your business if you do not make intensive use of that land it is because it is in the district it is going to have to be developed and I think we are going to have of parallel that message with the rezoning and really allowing these people to capitalize on that empty land that we are taxing them for and giving them a chance to start moving toward developing. Councilman Monahan-suggested that when we go from one base to another if it is large increase (%50 over what they were) we could maybe have some kind of a break in there that they could only in one year go up a certain percentage. Councilman Tucker-Benefit 1 we can do this year...has that got to be refined in your mind? Mrs. Fuller-Yes, I think so. Councilman Tucker-Do you have time in your mind to do it from now until Sept. Mrs. Fuller-Sure... Councilman Tucker-Eventually we are going to go to benefit two Mrs. Fuller-... lets just work on a combination and get a better program by July we can come up with I think a really good program... the board will have to decide if they want to go with a real benefit district because that is not what you have right now... It was agreed to bring forth the tabled resolution from December 30th on a proposed local law on sewer rents at the Board Meeting of January 27th... The meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Miss Darleen M. Dougher Town Clerk-Queensbury
