Text Search Example with in a Folder in Laserfiche
The Laserfiche system has some built in help on how to use the Search filters that can be accessed by
clicking on the Help link at the top of any page. The following is an example of the Town of
Queensbury information.
As an example, you are looking for information on "Meadow Lane". Clicking on the Search tab and
entering "Meadow Lane" as the Search term will yield almost 2000 results in the Laserfiche system. If
you know you can narrow your search down to the 2006 Town Board meetings you can get much more
refined results.
Start by opening up the Town Board minutes and drilling down to the 2006 year, and click on the 2006
folder in the left hand window (1), so that it displays a list of all the meeting minutes of the year in the
right hand window (2):

Click on the "Search" tab (3) in the left hand window to bring up the Search screen.
The left hand window will display the following, click on the Customize Search (4) drop down menu.

selected.

The 2006 folder name should automatically be filled into the folder text box. Next enter your search
term "meadow" in the Web link search text box (6) and click on the Search button at the bottom of the
window.

The results of the search are displayed in the right hand window; in this case it found 7 results that
matched the search criteria. The results show the documents the term "meadow" was found in. Click
on the "Hits" number to display more information about the term within the document (6).
